The Russian Defense Ministry says that Ukraine fired six U.S.-made ATACMS missiles at Russia’s Bryansk region. The statement on Tuesday came days after President Joe Biden eased restrictions on Ukrainian use of American-made weapons in the war. President Vladimir Putin has signed a revised nuclear doctrine declaring that a conventional attack on Russia by any nation that is supported by a nuclear power will be considered a joint attack. Putin’s endorsement of the new nuclear deterrent policy on Tuesday comes on the 1,000th day after he sent troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022.

BEIRUT (AP) — A United States envoy says an agreement to end the Israel-Hezbollah war is “within our grasp” after meeting with officials in Lebanon. There is no such optimism in the Gaza Strip, where the looting of nearly 100 aid trucks by armed men has worsened an already severe food crisis.

SEATTLE (AP) — Northern California and the Pacific Northwest are bracing for what is expected to be a powerful storm. Heavy rain and winds are set to pummel the region and potentially cause power outages and flash floods.

NEW YORK (AP) — Walmart ratcheted up sales and profits again in the third quarter with its comparatively low prices proving a powerful draw for shoppers seeking to cut spending where they could. The nation’s largest retailer raised its outlook for the year as well.

NEW YORK (AP) — With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, food retailers are trying to tempt Americans who haven't recovered from recent price inflation. Walmart, Target, Aldi and other grocers are competing for a place on holiday tables with turkey dinner deals and other promotions.
