It’s Friday, my friends, and that means we’re all about the Q+A today!
Episode 42 is a wild ride, with CALORIES taking center stage🎦 (as they often do), with conversations about proper calorie counting, weight maintenance, macros, planning ahead for social situations, and so many other topics, too (because, yes, we’re also talking about my teeth)!
Individual questions are listed below, along with timestamps to make finding specific topics quick and easy.

00:01:06 - Julie - I’m doing the 5-0 Method and am within a few pounds of my goal weight! However, I just realized that I’m currently taking in 165 fewer calories than recommended by 5-0. Since I’ve been losing, should I keep going with my current calories or readjust to the 5-0 number? I want to make sure I get my “right” amount of energy.

00:05:50 - Pat - Are you starting the April workouts on April 1st or on the first Monday in April?
00:08:24 - Tracy - If exercise doesn’t help with weight loss, why do you include moderate exercise as part of the 5-0 Method?
00:11:28 - Darlene - How do you keep your teeth so white?
00:12:56 - Karen - On long runs, is it normal for some people to become itchy while running?
00:15:38 - Connie - Regarding BMI, my goal weight is on the horizon, but my BMI is taking forever to reduce. Can you help me put this into perspective?
00:24:38 - Lisa & Estelle - I just completed the 31-day weight loss series. I’ve lost weight, and I have more to go. What series should I do next?
00:27:20 - Ronnie - How does your coaching program work?

00:29:27 - Cathy - We have been invited to a family fish fry on Sunday. Should I eat less at breakfast and lunch since the supper meal will likely be higher in calories? I need help in planning calories since social events will likely increase soon.
00:36:03 - Sharon - As a type 1 diabetic, I believe that makes weight loss harder. Agree?
00:41:24 - Jacki - I would love to see an exercise ball routine.

00:42.11 - Ruth - I had reached a plateau with weight loss and reduced my calorie intake. It hasn’t helped, and now I’m struggling to know how best to rectify my mistake. Can you help?
00:53:13 - Debbie - I’ve been walking and exercising since last March. I’ve lost almost 20 pounds. I look smaller but can’t get my body to lose more. Why is that?
01:00:37 - Suzanne - If I miss a moderately balanced meal and fill in with not-so-healthy food, I avoid the scale and quietly berate myself. Since you have said that you can’t exercise off a bad diet, then what can I do besides get back on the right plan? It seems that if I did two rounds of exercise, at least I’d be using more calories.
01:17:41 - Suzanne - Even though I stay within calories 99% of the time, balancing the fats, carbs, and protein given in My Fitness Pal is a challenge.
01:19:40 - Irene - I lost 70 pounds a few years ago, and although I put on a few pounds when I stopped smoking, I seem happy at my current weight. Why is it so hard for me to move myself into maintenance?
01:27:10 - Kirsten - Did I hear something about a book?
