On this episode of the podcast, Anson and Chris had a brief discussion about timing. one can argue, that timing is the very thing that dictates the happenings in our lives. literally almost every aspect of our life is shaped by timing in some type of way…the job market, sports, cooking, relationships, conversations…the right or improper timing can make or break a situation. while I don’t wanna elaborate on this intro anymore than I need to, I will say this is good timing to tell you all that we really thank you for continually tuning in to the quality goods podcast. we have a blast bringing you all quality content and you can support us through continued listens, repping our march, and even donating to us through our anchor profile at anchor.fm/qgpod.
On this episode of the podcast Anson and Chris had a colorful conversation with Oakland based artist Jorge Bejarano aka Abstract Oakland. If you’ve had the privilege of taking a cruise down Broadway Downtown Oakland, you may have seen his vibrant work adorning some of the storefronts amongst the beautiful array of street art, or perhaps you got your hands on some of his recent Oakland themed Loteria Tablas. Regardless of where you have or have yet to come across his work, his eye catching cityscapes are sure to leave a lasting impression. They talked about how encouragement from an early mentor helped set him up for success in the long run, and how his development as an artist led him to putting his true self into his works. As is the case with many creative endeavors, approaching your craft from a genuine place will almost always yield the best results, and Jorge’s story is no different. Whether you’re a street art enthusiast or creative of any capacity, you’ll enjoy this conversation about art and culture in the east bay.

Like we already mentioned though, not everything needs to be a purchase of a lifetime, so they talked about what kinds of items should get this kind of consideration, working up towards that lifetime quality price point in a given category, and some unexpected items that have made it into their lifetime arsenals. From items, to brands, to peoples own reps..what are you buying for life? Hit us up because we wanna know what’s built to last, and what’s not living up to its reputation. slide into those DMs @qualitygoodstv on instagram, that is the best place to interact with us. Alfred Howard is a writer and performer based out of San Diego California. His recent project Alfred Howard Writes is currently taking place over the course of this year, as he invites artists around the country to collaborate in song. His powerful pieces evoke emotion as he draws energy from societal struggles and complicated issues that weve been faced with lately. He shared his history as a singer and songwriter, how he nearly hung up his writing talents, and how events of recent years have reignited his passion for writing and performing. Sometimes it’s shock and trauma that bring about the most creative energies, and if they’re cultivated just right, they can be channeled into vibes that resonate across many boundaries. Check out his vibes on alfredhowardwrites.com, and you can follow the chronicles of the project that has been taking place for the ‘better’ part of this year.

On this episode of the podcast the guys invited Bindlestiff Studios Alum Thomas Paras back to the conversation alongside his fellow bindlestiff producers Golda and Lo to chat about the Studio, Sci-fi , and their new show that combines both of those forces aptly named Forbidden Futures. No one could have predicated the dystopian future we’re currently living, but the three of them wanted to make sure that our stories are being told now, through the bindlestiff lens. They talked about the challenges of writing and producing a show that is safe to consume from confines of your socially distanced home, some sci-fi inspirations of ours through the years, and bringing people together by telling relatable stories about distant and not-so-distant worlds. Go check out the show on their Twitch channel on October 17th, all info found at https://www.bindlestiffstudio.org/ff2020.
