The Agricultural and Agro-processing Masterplan signed in May 2022 by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development as well as the farming sector, labour, business and civil society organisations, is being called into questions by four other stakeholders. The Transvaal Agricultural Union of SA, the Southern African Agri Initiative and the National Employers Association say the Masterplan as it stands now, is not inclusive and have started a campaign that aims to come up with what they say will be an improved document.

The Limpopo Department of Health has called for calm after the province reported its first case of monkeypox. This is the third case to be reported in South Africa. Last month a 30-year-old Johannesburg who had no travel history tested positive and a week later a 32-year-old man from Cape Town tested positive. Yesterday the Limpopo health department said the National Institute of Communicable Diseases had confirmed a 42-year-old male tourist from Switzerland had tested positive.
