Queen and Slim isn't quite the Bonnie and Clyde film that the trailer makes it out to be. What you end up getting is a movie that ends up being about the tragedy of the characters and how they are a symbol for the circumstance that jumpstarts the plot of film. This ends up hindering the story in two instances. Past the story though, Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith carry this film through the characters on top of the excellent visuals and soundtrack.

Your miles may vary but overall its an engaging watch and worth it for the most part.
