Queer All Year episodes

  • June 1st in Queer History - "Kind of a weird Pride month"
Welcome to Pride Month, everyone! We made it! We have no clue what it's going to look like since we're in quarantine!
Today, Cat posts the episode WAY too late, let's us know that McG is still sick and reaffirms that she's not a sound producer, talks about systemic racism and ponders how to address it properly in a queer history podcast, moves straight into Jerry Falwell (booo) and the Moral Majority (BOOOO), and then talks about Gay Days at Disney World! There may or may not also be some talk about Frozen during which Cat forgot to mention the reason she was talking about it, but it doesn't matter because she's never seen either of the movies.

  • May 31st in Queer History - "I am not a sound producer"
Welcome to a really weird episode of Queer All Year, in which McG is non-COVID sick and Cat really hopes she GarageBanded correctly!
Today, Cat's talking in a very tired voice about the Covenant of Loving Partners, the ceremony created by the Conservative Judaism movement when they extended marriage equality to everyone! Cat's posting this at 9am having not slept last night; McG...honestly, probably took Cat's dog for a walk around 5am and is now passed out; if this episode doesn't post, Cat's TMJ is going to permanently lock her mouth shut and this podcast is gonna get weird.

  • May 28th in Queer History, "We're Kind Of A BFD" Barack Obama Linguistics, Joe Biden,
Hey everybody, welcome back to another wonderful episode Queer All Year!
So today, Cat and McG start off with their usual banter. Cat gave McG instructions to not get political, and then she went off on a linguistic analysis of Barack Obama, which was quite entertaining. We also express how we miss "Uncle Biden" meaning the Joe Biden before all the media attention he received during this election. For our main story, Cat tells of the tumultous Proclamation 85 in 2010. This created Pride Month.

  • May 27th in Queer History, "The Throwing Star" Golden Gate Bridge
Hey everybody! Welcome back for another great episode of Queer All Year!
Today, Cat and McG start out with another surprise guest: Florida Man! On this particular date, Florida Man was subdued after trying to stab someone with a throwing star. We debate the wisdom behind using a projectile as a melee weapons and discuss other odd weapons. For our main story: Cat talks about the Golden Gate Bridge. McG previously did A Little Segment on the topic, but destroyed all his notes, unfortunately. Still very informative, though.

  • May 26th in Queer History, "Please Don't Vote 3rd Party This Time"
Hey everyboud! Welcome to another hot episode of Queer All Year!
So today, Cat starts out teaching McG about Lin-Manuel and expands on his program that buses inner-city youth in to see Hamilton for free! And unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple of year you know the truth about Hamilton: Those tickets are incredibly expensive. Anyway, Cat also talks about Prop 8 in Californai and was finally just replaced a few years ago.

  • May 25th in Queer History, "In memory of.."
Hey everybody, we hope you're enjoying Memorial Day on Queer All Year!
Today, Cat and McG start out talking about radishes for some reason, but also a shoutout to our expanding audience! We also take time to thank our fallen heroes, including our Great-Uncle Leslie Hobson who gave his life in The Battle of the Bulge, an infamous and deadly last-ditch offensive by Nazi Germany. In a different light, we would like this day to also be known for The Memorial Day Homophobe Homicides. One year ago this day, a masked assailant opened fire within a house party that included several homosexual and transgender people. This should be shocking to all, yet a changing atmosphere makes this seem almost normal. Have a happy memorial day, though.

  • May 24th in Queer History, "We're Going Insane!" Pan Visibility Day, Colonial America Sodomy Laws
Hey everybody! Welcome back to another crazy episode of Queer All Year!
Today, Cat and McG start out by lamenting our weird recording situation. Cat is underneith a blanket, while McG was in the corner of the same room. While McG managed to edit out the crazy echoes, we may seem a little confused :P Anyway, today is Pan Visibility Day, a day to celebrate, recognize, and validate our Pansexual family. Cat's main story is about the very first American colonial sodomy laws. And thus it began..
