(00:00-23:14) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison touching on the big wins for the Indiana Pacers and Purdue Boilermakers. They also have an extended conversation about the direction of Indiana basketball after another blowout loss on the road underneath Mike Woodson in Big Ten conference play.
(23:14-37:49) – Don Fischer joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook on the program to recap what went wrong for the Indiana Hoosiers against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night, admits that he still doesn’t know what kind of team this IU team is, explains how AAU, NIL, and the transfer portal are impacting the product of college athletics from his point of view, and preview tomorrow night’s game for the Hoosiers against the Illinois Fighting Illini.
(37:49-45:45) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake paying off his tease from the end of the previous segment as to who his new favorite athlete in the state is.
(45:45-1:05:44) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Query & Company and admits that this is a hard offseason to find respectable competition for Anthony Richardson. Chappell highlights that the most realistic options for QB competition are Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, and Aaron Rodgers. Finally, Mike questions if you can teach/coach maturity into a player, takes a step back to look at the failures the franchise has had with quarterbacks, shares some of his takeaways on Chris Ballard’s press conference from last week, and touches on the defensive coordinator search.
(1:05:44-1:19:31) – Last night the Indiana Pacers picked up their sixth consecutive double-digit win, but they lost Tyrese Haliburton in the process to a sore left hamstring. Jake and Jimmy have a discussion as to whether the Pacers need to make a trade or ride out this current group of players for another season.
(1:19:31-1:26:56) – Hour two of the program concludes with Jake asking Jimmy and Eddie which team in college basketball always steamrolls their way through the regular season and conference tournament and then fall off in the NCAA Tournament.
(1:26:56-1:50:58) – On Saturday the Indiana Hoosiers got their downs blown off by the Iowa Hawkeyes. Jake and Jimmy share their thoughts on where the Hoosiers are at right now because it doesn’t appear that this team has an identity at this point in the season. They compare what Mike Woodson has done in his time at IU compared to what Matt Painter has done in the recent seasons.
(1:50:58-2:04:30) – FanDuel Sports Network’s Chris Denari joins Jake and Jimmy to round out today’s guest lineup to break down yesterday’s win for the Indiana Pacers over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He tries to describe how important Andrew Nembhard is to this team, states that he hasn’t been provided an update on Tyrese Haliburton’s left hamstring soreness, believes that the game is starting to slow down for Jarace Walker, and states that this team might be more diverse in how they can win compared to last season.
(2:04:30-2:08:45) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and JMV joining the guys in studio to preview his show!
