Quick Climate Links: Bathed in common sense; Loving cycle ways and public transport; Move quickly and make small changes

Listen Later

Common Sense, something many think they have, is a subjective thing, and surprisingly rare.
I have, however, been fortunate enough only recently to have been exposed to this rare commodity when I heard Saul Griffith speak in Melbourne as a part of the National Sustainable Living Festival and then read the latest book from the chief economist at The Australia Institute, Richard Denniss.
The book, "Big: The Role of the State in the Modern Economy", is really just an essay, but packed into its less than 100 pages (and small pages at that) is boundless common sense about shaping Australia's economic future.
Regular listeners to the ABC's RN Breakfast program will be familiar with the voice of Matt Bevan, which has been absent for a couple of months now he has been putting together the new podcast, "Australia, if You're Listening?"; a podcast that takes an in-depth look at Australia and the climate crisis.
The practical, intellectual, emotional and physical experience surrounding the climate crisis has produced for many a certain "climate anxiety" and that is being looked at by The Conversation again through a podcast - "Ten years to 1.5°C: how climate anxiety is affecting young people around the world – podcast".
