Yachtswoman, Dame Ellen MacArthur (pictured) become famous when she sailed solo around the world establishing a new record for such an undertaking and it was during that event that she had something of a "light-bulb" moment about the finiteness of the world.

Returning to shore she decided to do something with that realization and sometime later set up the "Ellen MacArthur Foundation" that encourages people to think seriously about and embrace a circular economy.

And it was in Tim Jackon's book "Post Growth" that I first encountered Ellen MacArthur.
