  • 11 Minute Love Story About Toast
I talk about my love of toast, and I can spend a great deal more time talking about how toast is just wonderful. But, I talked about all of the feelings in the joys of toast, and why we should have more toast in our lives.

  • Decisions and Who You Are
Much of your life is outside of your control. Your decisions are often made not made by you, and the outcomes that you get are often not a reflection of any decision that you made.
So how do you deal with this? Practice being grateful and practice reminding yourself that you’re remarkable no matter what happens.

  • The Sum Of Scientific Failures > Research Stars
The sum of scientific failures is likely much greater than what we would consider research stars. The productivity that comes from most people is spectacular if you were to sum up all of that research effort.
The question then becomes a how do we leverage that large group, and be how should we get them the accolades that they deserve.

  • Entrepreneurship Lesson: No One Cares Until They Pay
One of the hardest lessons to learn, and in entrepreneurship or innovation, is realizing that nobody cares about you or your product. The only way that you know if they actually care is when they purchase some thing. It is the purchase decision that reveals their interest in what you’re doing.
It reveals a lot about who people are and what they actually say. Once you realize this, you make many different decisions in your life. You become a lot more independent, and you stop listening to what other people are saying, until they actually perform an action.

  • Is Academia Toxic?
is academia toxic? Yes, it can be. But it’s more isolating and you’ll realize that people will not help you because they’re all self interested.
That’s where you go. No problem. I could do this myself, and I could build boundaries around myself to make me feel good. I can be a decent human being, and do the things that decent human beings do.
I could do simple things in my life that are good for me, and will help out other people. I won’t expect anything from anybody else, but that’s OK.
You let them be you, and you work on being a more complete self.

  • Amount Of Work That Goes Into Research Paper
The amount of work that goes into a research paper is unwieldy. To actually do a good job, you will have to do an extraordinary amount of work that most people would not be willing to do.
You will likely feel overwhelmed with the amount of work that you have to do. The only way that you can get up is to stop worrying about the amount of work that you have to do.

  • Let’s Be Practical
Let’s be practical, and find opportunities that suits you and allow you to be a better person. Stop worrying about whether there are macro conditions that are good or bad, and just start focusing on how you can be a better person.

  • Bandwagons in science
It’s important to remember that topics become very hot in science. There are bandwagon facts that happen in science, as with every other arena as life. People jump on things as they think that they can benefit from.
I have realized that there’s often little benefit to do so, and perhaps the best thing is to just keep going forward, and pursuing the things that matter to you.

  • I Am Grateful For You
I’m grateful for the fact that you’re following along with the R3ciprocity project. i’m grateful for the fact that you can see how things are built to come from nothing, and you just simply keep going no matter how it feels.
My ultimate goal is to encourage more people to take leaps of faith and solve problems that they know that exist, no matter how they feel and how big the problem is.

  • Getting Perspective In Your Life
most days I don’t feel like getting up and going and going. Most days I have to go through the motions. But, the important thing that I remember is a start thinking about what is the alternative? I think about all those other people that live a different life than me, and I realize that everybody has a certain amount of drudgery in their life.
I realize that we are all struggling with things. I realize that even the person that has it all together on the outside, is still feeling falling apart on the inside.
I think about my two dogs, and they probably have the best life that any golden retrievers ever had. But I still leave them for hours at a time to go to work. Even if you have a luxurious life, you still have to go through drudgery.
it’s important to get this perspective in what you do.
