The tragic death of former President of Mozambique Samora Machel along with 34 other passengers in October 1986, has been described as a strong fountain for a democratic Africa. Thousands gathered in Mbuzini yesterday to commemorate 30 years since the passing of the liberation struggle hero. His son Samora Machel Junior paid tribute to his father and those who died with him. The DA has laid charges of corruption against Atul Gupta, Ajay Gupta and Duduzane Zuma. This follows revelation by the Minister of Finance; Pravin Gordhan in court papers that the Guptas controlled companies allegedly was involved in 72 suspicious transactions. The DA says it wants further investigations into possible exchange-control violations, as well as an investigation into the purchase of the Optimum Coal Mine owned by the Guptas.
