South African Traditional Music Awards has honoured SABC COO by establishing a category after Hlaudi Mostoeneng. And Motsoeneng was awarded with an award for his role in promoting traditional music. The honour was bestowed at the SATMA function in Durban. SATMA founder Dumisani Goba says they decided to honour Motsoeneng for promoting traditional music. Goba says even other categories will be changed to honour the heroes and heroines of Africa. Khalesakhe Mbhense reports

ANC's Parks Tau says they are planning to launch a civil case against newly elected City of Johannesburg mayor DA's Herman Mashaba over remarks that he allegedly made about ANC women in senior executive positions in the City of Johannesburg. He was speaking at the funeral of a councillor in the city- Nonhlanhla Mthembu, in Naturena south of Johannesburg. Mthembu died on Monday after collapsing at the inaugural council meeting. The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse, OUTA, has described the resignation of South African Airway's audit and risk committee chair, Yakhe Kwinana, as an insincere and selfish move. She was one of only three remaining non-executive directors. She had been a member of the SAA board since 2009. Announcing her resignation on Monday, she said her reputation was at stake. Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters, has been criticised after a letter was sent to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa's board chairman, Popo Molefe, requesting an end to an investigation into irregular tenders at the parastatal. The investigation into PRASA followed several irregularities identified by the Auditor General and the Public Protector. Last year, Thuli Madonsela ordered an investigation into all PRASA's contracts worth more than 10-million rand that had been awarded since 2012.
