A Constitutional Court judgment puts paid to a David and Goliath battle for fair compensation. At the centre of the battle is the multi-billion rand Please Call Me concept, which is listed among the top five South African innovations of the decade. Sixteen years ago, Nkosana Makate, a trainee accountant, pitched his idea to his then employer - cellphone giant Vodacom.
