Sixteen years ago, Nkosana Makate, a trainee accountant, pitched his idea to his then employer - cellphone giant Vodacom. The news of the death of Founder of Park Lane Fertility clinic, Doctor Herman Netshidzivhani has shocked his friends, colleagues and female patients. Netshidzivhani, the first black fertility doctor in South Africa, died in a motorbike accident on the N1 in Polokwane on Saturday. His patients say he gave them hope when they thought they could never have babies. Senior journalist Thabile Mbhele reports....

The International Criminal Court has announced it is launching preliminary examination into the situation in Burundi for alleged crimes including rape, murder and torture. At least four hundred and thirty people have been killed and over three thousand four hundred arrested in violence and unrest in Burundi since disputed elections last April. The EFF says it will defend it's leader, Julius Malema on a treason charge laid by the ANC at the Hillbrow police station in Johannesburg.
