Comair is confident that strike by 4-hundred members of the Trade Union UASA won't affect its operations. The strike is about salary disputes following the two parties unable to reach an agreement even after the CCMA's intervention. This according to the union is the first strike by employees since the inception of the airline. For more Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Uasa's Operational Manager, Jannem Goussard.

Parliament will investigate whether it would heed calls from opposition parties to take disciplinary action against President Jacob Zuma over the Nkandla saga. Speaker Baleka Mbete said Parliament would sit down to look at the call by the opposition for disciplinary action against Zuma and the legal implication of this. Tensions continue to simmer within the ANC over whether president Jacob Zuma should step down or not. The ruling party's national leadership has been consistent of the need for Zuma to continue to lead while structures in Gauteng and some stalwarts want him out. Calls have been mounting within and outside the ANC for the president to step down after the constitutional court found that he violated the constitution by failing to comply with the remedial actions of public protector Thuli Madonsela in relation to the Nkandla matter. Zimbabwe has bestowed its highest honour on a South African born woman. Kwazulu Natal native, Victoria Chitepo was buried at the country's heroes shrine yesterday. This in recognition of her contribution to Zimbabwe's liberation struggle. President Mugabe told mourners that no country had suffered more loss than Zimbabwe during its struggle. A Three-year-old child born to a South African woman imprisoned in Mozambique for drug related crimes, has been repatriated to South Africa. This child accompanied by social workers from the Department of Social Development arrived at the O.R Tambo international airport. According to the Department, the child's mother wrote to the Department requesting that the child be repatriated to South Africa for placement in foster care with his extended family. Daily operations had to be suspended at the Kangra Coal Mine in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, due to violent protest action by residents of Saul Mkhizeville. They are angry over what they call a lack of development in their community while they have a mine in their neighbourhood. Yesterday, they took to the streets blockading roads with burning tyres and rubbish demanding that the mine plough back into the community. Abongile Dumako compiled this report.

Four-million-rand has been received from the insurance of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, by the Premier Soccer League. The Bafana and Pirates goalkeeper was killed at his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus, in October 2014. His killers have not yet been caught. Orlando Pirates will receive half of the money, with the other two-million deposited into a special account. Sifiso Ramara reports......
