Minister of International Relations, Maite Nkoana- Mashabane says South Africa is working closely with the UK on a range of issues from security threats to scientific breakthroughs. The ANC says South Africa will raise the plight of the Palestinians in all international forums as part of a letter of intent signed with HAMAS in Johannesburg yesterday. The leadership of Islamic Resistance Movement HAMAS led by Khaled Meshaal met with the ANC on the invitation of the ruling party. The ANC says it will co-operate with the party to struggle against the oppression and occupation of the Palestineans by what it calls Apartheid Israel. Classes at Wits University have been suspended once again after violent protests erupted over a proposed increase in tuition fees. Angry students overturned a car that allegedly tried to run over some of the protesters and beat up the driver. They then blockaded Empire Road in Parktown after the university's Executive Council failed to meet with them. Students have been protesting at the campus since last week over the proposed tuition increase for next year of 10.5%. Sashin Naidoo reports....

The clock is ticking for a Western Cape farm manager after the Constitutional Court ordered that she take all necessary steps to help the Snyders family return to their home on the Voorbaat farm. The family complained that they were evicted without notice two weeks ago and have been forced to live in a drafty warehouse. The highest court in the land ordered that they be allowed to return, pending the outcome of their appeal against the eviction. Senior Constituitonal Court Reporter, Candice Nolan reports

The City of Cape Town is expected to serve notices on various top police officials today to appear in court for breaching the Regulation of Gatherings Act. Mayoral Committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says a crime imbizo held by Police Minister Nathi Nhleko in Khayelitsha over the weekend was illegal. The meeting was called to discuss the implementation of recommendations of the Khayelitsha Commission of Inquiry which probed allegations of police inefficiency in the area. Lyndon Khan reports

President Jacob Zuma has assured the media that whatever laws are passed that may affect the sector will not contravene the rights to freedom of expression and speech enshrined in the constitution. A family from rural KwaMaphumulo north of Durban has been left traumatised after they spent a day driving around with the body of an unknown person in a coffin due to a case of mistaken identity.
