Foreign nationals in Grahamstown it the Eastern Cape say they are being ignored by the Makana Municipality. More than 450 foreign nationals are still being housed in a place of safety after their shops were looted last week. The looting was allegedly sparked by a belief among the community that the foreign nationals are behind a spate of brutal murders in Joza township. The foreign nationals deny any involvement in the brutal murders. They says they don't know why they are always targeted. Bacon, sausage and other processed meats are now ranked alongside cigarettes and asbestos as known carcinogens. In a new report the World Health Organization says processed meats cause cancer, and red meat likely causes cancer. Poll results trickling in from Tanzania's general election show the ruling party taking a narrow lead. 10 of the 264 constituencies have announced results. Voting was forced into a second day following delays in delivering voting material and incidences of violence in several areas. Student Representative Council at the North West University says they will continue with their protests at the three campuses until the university's council clarifies if it will heed to president Zuma's call for a no fee increase or not. Violence has plagued the University's Vaal-Triangle and Mahikeng Campuses, while others were admitted in hospital following their clash with the police. Bafedile Moerane reports

Thirteen students at the University of Limpopo outside Polokwane have been arrested for malicious damage to property and theft. This after protesting students vandalised and looted cafeterias at the Turfloop campus last night. This came a few hours after they had handed over a memorandum to university management.
