A recent study on role of women in peace making has shown that women have a more meaningful role in global conflict management. The report, presented by the UN-WOMEN in new york, indicates that peace is sustained where women participated in peace talks missions. It also reveals that countries are more resilient to conflicts and extremism when gender equality is prioritized. Sherwin Bryce-Pease report.

Department of Land Affairs and Rural Development is to review the controversial Ingonyama Trust Act in KwaZulu-Natal with the aim of ensuring that people on tribal land fully benefit from it. The Act established the Ingonyama Trust which administers about 2.8 million hectares of land in the province under traditional authority. Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini is the chair of the Trust. The issue was discussed at the ANC's National General Council held over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Ingonyama Trust has welcomed plans to review the Act, saying that's in line with the constitution.
