The ANC says the "ICC has lost its direction and is no longer pursuing that principle of an instrument that is fair for everybody" and has thus urged the South African government to begin the process of withdrawing from the international body. This is according to the party's international relations subcommittee Chairperson Obed Bapela who addressed reporters at the NGC meeting in Midrand (on Sunday). AbaThembu royal family and traditional leaders in the Eastern Cape have endorsed Prince Azenathi Zanelizwe as the regent king of the Abathembu nation. This comes after the Supreme Court of Appeal turned down King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo's appeal against a 15-year sentence which was reduced to 12 years for crimes committed between 1995 and 1996. The crimes include arson, culpable homicide, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice. King Dalindyebo says his son is ready to take the royal spear

The ANC has vowed to embark on a renewal drive to rid itself of factionalism and corruption. In his address at the end of the three day National General Council which ended in Midrand, President Jacob Zuma said members who are leading factions and buying of members for votes during elective conferences will face disciplinary actions. Zuma also says they want to conduct lifestyle audits of all civil servants to root out corruption. Ntebo has more.

Scores of emerging farmers in Bedford, in the Eastern Cape, face a bleak future as a result of grazing land and water shortages in the area. The Bedford Stock owner's Association say the number of livestock has exceeded the size of the commonage allocated to them by the municipality twenty years ago. The Association has more than 60 emerging farmers. Some of the livestock farmers have cattle, sheep, goats and pigs. Makhaya Komisa reports

SARS has uncovered a syndicate which was attempting to defraud the tax system R266 million. Suspecting fraudulent activities, SARS official requested this syndicate to furnish supporting documents.
