The Municipal Demarcation Board is set to delimit metropolitan municipalities, local municipalities and wards. The board has completed its public consultative process on the ward delimitations for the 2016 local elections. Two doctors and a nurse from KwaZulu-Natal state hospitals, north of Durban, have been suspended after a critically injured patient died because they were allegedly bickering over which hospital should treat him. MEC S'bongiseni Dhlomo is to report the incident to professional bodies, which will be able to determine if they acted negligently. Meanwhile, a private ambulance service operating in Verulam and Phoenix, says they are often sent from one hospital to another by lazy hospital staff. Dries Liebenberg reports

South Africa is looking to China to address problems in its state-owned-enterprises. Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is on an official visit to China. Ramaphosa is being accompanied by two cabinet ministers and four deputy ministers. Most of China's state-owned enterprises are partially publicly listed with interests in real estate, the financial sector and rail. Ramaphosa says government is also seeking to partner with the East Asian giants in areas such as governance and training. Tshepo Mongoai is in Beijing, China and compiled this report

A police station that should have cost 52 million rand, is costing taxpayers an additional 54 million rand! The Diepsloot police station, north of Johannesburg was expected to take 3 years to build. However, 8 years later, it is yet to open it's doors to the public. Diepsloot has one of the highest crime rates in Gauteng and residents had hoped the new police station will help increase police visibility in the township.
