First Thing is First | Gauteng’s more than 15 million residents will by the end of the week have a new premier following the departure of David Makhura, who has been at the helm of the province since 2014. The ANC in Gauteng has hand-picked its provincial chairperson, Panyaza Lesufi to take over from the outgoing Premier, David Makhura. Makhura resigned on Tuesday after 8 years of service.
Lesufi, who is also the education MEC, is expected to be elected Premier.
