School readiness to open
Guest: Matakanye Matakanye, General Secretary of the National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB)
You have always disputed the rosy picture being painted by the national and provincial departments on school readiness, what do you say today, are schools ready to open?
What are your main concerns? Are they being addressed?
What is your message to parents, when can they confidently send their kids to school?

ARTS: Since the beginning of the week, we’ve been treated to live music in celebration of Africa month on various platforms. To close off Africa Month, Brand South Africa is also holding a Play Your Part Africa Live Stream concert featuring Thandiswa Mazwai, Baaba Maal and Madala Kunene this coming Saturday. To speak to us more we’re joined on the line by Mpumi Mabuza, General Manager of Stakeholder Relations at Brand SA.

INTERVIEW: Teacher unions in KZN say the provincial Education Department had failed to adequately ensure safety at schools and they would, therefore, be discouraging their members from returning to work today. We now speak to Lemmy Ntshangase, a principal at a Grade R to Matric school in KZN. We’ll also chat to a labour lawyer about what informs who’s supposed to go back to work.
