Former North West Premier and former ANC Provincial Chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo has, for the first time, responded publicly to allegations of a plot to oust President Cyril Ramaphosa. A Sunday newspaper reported in September that former President, Jacob Zuma, held a clandestine meeting with top ANC officials in this regard. Patrick Dintwa reports.

Workers at the Tswaing Local Municipality in the North West who are affiliated to trade union SAMWU have emabrked on a protest action. They are raising concern about the municipality's failure to pay statutory deductions of their employees. According to the union over 8 000 of their members have been affected. Some workers say they have been warned that their policies will lapse due to non-payment of premiums. Tswaing is one of eight municipalities that have been placed under administration by the provincial government. Zebilon Maine reports.

Arguments in mitigation and aggravation of sentence in the case against businessman and property mogul Jason Rohde will be heard on the 21st of November. Rohde has been found guilty of killing his wife Susan in July 2016 at the Spier Wine Estate. Judge Gayaat Salie-Hlophe of the High Court in Cape Town says the evidence proved beyond reasonable doubt that Rohde murdered his wife and then staged her death as a suicide. Former Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille says she is taking legal action against four DA leaders as a matter of principle. She laid charges of fraud and crimen injuria against Mike Waters MP, Bronwynne Engelbrecht MP, Shehana Kajee and Henk Hugo at the Cape Town police station earlier today. This relates to a post that they circulated on social media alleging that she had a hand in tender irregularities in the municipal bus service MiCiti. US president Donald Trump's Republican party has lost control of the House of Representatives during the mid-term elections. This was a first win for the Democracts in eight years and will make it difficult for Trump to push his programme through Congress. The much anticipated polls, seen as an indicator of what is to come in the next elections, took place yesterday.
Leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, has thanked supporters saying tomorrow will be a new day in America. Meanwhile the party's Jacky Rosen who has secured the Senate seat in Nevada says women are taking their country back.

The Capricorn District Municipality executive mayor, John Mpe, says his predecessor, Gilbert Kganyago, was allegedly directly involved in investing public funds in the troubled VBS Mutual Bank. Mpe says that records indicate that Kganyago chaired the mayoral committee meetings which took a decision to invest 60 million rand in VBS between 2015 and 2016. The money was later withdrawn. A group of parents at the Rustenburg Girls' Junior School in Cape Town who identify themselves as Parents for Change say they want their children to be taught in a school environment that prepares them to live and work in a diverse community. They believe that the school refuses to transform after it made headlines following the resignation of a grade five teacher who was the first Black class teacher to be appointed in the school's history. Nozipho Mthembu left her job in September this year after just nine months of employment following accusations by learners, parents and the school that her performance did not meet the required standard. The SABC's inquiry into sexual harassment has found that the leadership at its KwaZulu Natal offices failed to correctly handle allegations of inappropriate workplace behaviour and has urged the public broadcaster to deal with the matter. The commission, which was established in June this year, says it received the majority of its complaints from the SABC's radio division. The inquiry's Barba Watson and Mfana Shozi addressed the media in Johannesburg.
