51-year old Sibusiso Tshabalala who is facing a charge of murder for shooting his 16-year old son dead outside his school in Ennerdale in June, will be back in court on December 11. He appeared briefly in the Lenasia Magistrates Court this morning. It is understood that he wants to plead guitly to a lesser charge of culpable homicide and the postponement will give both the defence and state time to finalise the plea agreement. Tshabalala says he accidentally shot his son Luyanda Themba Tshabalala after mistaking him for a hijacker. He had been sleeping in his car waiting for his son to finish his lessons that night. It is reported that HHP's family intends to challenge the order handed down by the Johannesburg High Court on Friday. Publicist Lerato Sengadi emerged victorious after being lawfully named the customary wife of deceased rapper Jabulani 'HHP' Tsambo. Her application to halt the muso's funeral was however, denied by Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng on the grounds of Ubuntu, and because HHP was a public figure. In his judgement, jugde Mokgoatlheng said that the law recognises three requirements for a customary marriage: age(18) & consent, lobola must be fixed and there must be a celebration. The case against two suspects, arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a Vlakfontein family near Lenasia in the south of Johannesburg, has been postponed to Monday next week in the Lenasia Magistrate's court. They are facing seven charges of murder, while three charges of rape have been added for one of them. Both accused are allegedly foreign nationals. Seven people were killed at Vlakfontein, including women and children early last week. The victims were laid to rest in a mass funeral yesterday in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal. Magistrate Maggie van der Merwe says evidence needs to be heard on why one of the accused deserves bail.

Women at the Gender Summit being held in Centurion Pretoria, say the corporate sector is also responsible for the oppression of women. They have been speaking about ways to end gender based violence in a first such gathering in the country. Yesterday women told their individual stories about sexual abuse and rape. Fatima Shabodiem who is one of the commission coordinators at the summit, says it is interesting to note that the National Development Plan does not say much about the economic development of women. She says capitalism requires black women who are disempowered.

President has filed an answering affidavit after former SARS Commissioner Tom Moyane’s notice that he is challenging amongst other things, his dismissal in the Constitutional Court. Moyane is also questioning the validity of the Nugent Commission set up to probe governance issues at SARS. Ramaphosa sacked Moyane based on a draft report by Judge Robert Nugent. The Presidency had defended Ramaphosa's saying the situation had become untenable. Presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko says Ramaphosa did not wait for Nugent's final report before because he did not expect to be it to be that different from the interim one. The court is expected to make a decision this afternoon on the validity of a marriage between the late hip hop star, Jabulani “HHP” Tsambo also known as Jabba. His partner Lerato Sengadi insists that they were married and that he had told her that he wants to buried in Johannesburg and not in the North wet where his family is based and where he grew up. Sengadi says her court battle with the family is not about money but about fulfilling Jabba’s wishes. Members of the ruling ANC, trade union federation COSATU, the SACP and the NGO OUTA, have once again called for the controversial e-tolls to be scrapped. They have marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria this afternoon. The protest was sparked by Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s comments who, during his maiden mid-term budget speech last week, insisted that the people of Gauteng have to pay for e-tolls.
