A 51-year-old cancer patient has described to SABC News how her life was compromised resulting in her collapsing at her home after the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg failed to provide her with Chemotherapy medication. The woman who is from Kagiso, west of Johannesburg has breast cancer. She says she and a number of other cancer patients were made to wait the entire day at the hospital last Thursday only to be sent home with pain killers because the hospital had run out of chemotherapy drugs. This comes as South Africa mark Breast Cancer Awareness month. Wisani Makhubele spoke to the patient who wishes to remain anonymous.

The police ministry says it will not be releasing too much information about the role of two police officers stationed at the Sophiatown police station west of Johannesburg, who have been arrested in connection with the murder of 21 year old Bradley Sauls who was gunned down in Westbury in July. The officers are facing charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice. This brings to seven the number of people arrested for Saul's death. The latest breakthrough follows the deployment of a multi-disciplinary task team in Westbury as part of efforts to stabilise the area. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the police's Brigadier Vish Naidoo.

The EFF remains mum about the involvement of its deputy president's brother in the looting of VBS mutual bank. The Reserve Bank has released a report written by advocate Terry Motau in which he details how Floyd Shivambu's sibling Brianand received R16 million from the bank hose doors are now closed. It is unclear why he received the money. The total amount looted amounts to R1.8 billion. Details in a forensic accountant report shows the money was gratuitously received from VBS by about 53 people between March 2015 and June 2018. The Provincial Treasurer of the ANC in Limpopo Danny Msiza, is alleged to be central in this heist. Motau has provided more details about the scheme.

The Home Affairs Portfolio Committe is to meet during Parliament's recess time in December, to accommodate a key witness, Ashu Chawla, in the inquiry who's currently in India. This has emerged during the committee's hearing into the naturalisation of the Gupta family, which resumed today. Chawla is the former COO of Sahara Computers, a Gupta-owned company which has now closed. The committee has learnt that Chawla is currently in New Delhi, but is expected to come to South Africa by the end of November. Chairperson Hlomani Chauke says Chawla has sent a a list of demands, including a business class flight ticket. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to our reporter Zalene Merrington.

The Constitutional Court says there should not be a blanket approach when dealing with the issue of the Immigration Directive 21 of 2015. This relates to a case of four asylum seekers who sought to apply for temporary residence after their applications were rejected by the Department of Home Affairs. The applicants wanted the Immigration Directive of 2015 to be declared invalid and unlawful. The matter was taken to the apex court after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Department of Home Affairs. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Head of Strategic Litigation at Lawyers for Human Rights, Waynne Mncube.

Financial services provider Net1 Mobile Solutions says t is not violating a Constitutional Court ruling that cancelled its subsidiary, CPS's social grant payment contract with SASSA. Net1 has been visiting several villages across the country with mobile ATMs and disbursing social grants to SASSA beneficiaries. The Concourt earlier ruled that SASSA's contract with CPS was invalid and that it should be cancelled by the end of September. The South African Post Office has taken over social grant payments. However, CPS, through its banking services wings Grindrod Bank and Net1 Mobile has been paying social grants to beneficiaries. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Net1 CEO Herman Kotze.
