ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has told delegates at the party's provincial elective conference in Gauteng that candidates contesting for positions should not view each other as enemies. He was delivering a keynote address at St George Hotel, Irene in Tshwane ahead of the start of the conference. An attempt by a group from Ekhurhuleni to stop the conference from taking place, failed yesterday. The High in Johannesburg ruled that the case was not urgent. Ramaphosa has also called for unit.

Researchers at the University of Cape Town have developed a groundbreaking rapid test which diagnoses TB embedded outside the lungs. This TB test kit is known as IRISA-TB. Clinical trials have been completed successfully. Thandiswa Mawu reports

The circumstances around the shooting of a 17-year old boy at Makgolokwe Secondary School in Batlharos Village in the Northern Cape, are still unclear. The boy died after being allegedly shot by a 38-year old man who was standing outside of the school premises. The suspect handed himself over to the police on Wednesday and is appearing in the local court today. Our reporter Refilwe Makoe is on the story.

A Khoisan group led by King Khoebaha Calvin Cornelius the 3rd, has given Parliament and government until today to vacate the premises. An eviction notice was placed at the visitors centre of Parliament on Monday but was later removed by the police. Cornelius gave parliament official notice that the Khoisan people have seceded from South Africa to establish the Sovereign State of Good Hope. But the Khomani San have distanced themselves from Cornelius and the secession. Our Parliamentary Correspondent Mercedes Besent tells us more.

Registration proceedings for the much-anticipated ANC KwaZulu-Natal elective conference at the Moses Mabhida Stadium are running smoothly despite an earlier delay. The conference was halted last month by the Pietermaritzburg High Court as some party members claimed that there was undue interference in some regions of the province which include the Lowe South, Harry Gwala and Moses Mabhida. The court also ruled last year that the results of the November 2015 elective conference has been unlawful and as this led to the formation of an interim leadership structure known as the Provincial Task Team. Leader of the structure, Sihle Zikalala spoke to our presenter Sakina Kamwendo.

The Department of Basic Education says it will use details coming out of today's court judgment to improve infrastructure at schools around the country. This comes after the Bhisho High Court in the Eastern Cape ordered government earlier today, to ensure that every school has water, electricity, functioning toilets, internet and safe classrooms amongst others. The matter was taken to court by the NGO Equal Education. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Daniel Linde from the organisation's Law Centre.

Businessman and former Steinhoff chairman Christo Wiese says facts around allegations that he is involved in tax invasion have been misinterpreted. The amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism misinterpreted is reporting that Wiese and several companies and individuals are being pursued by SARS for tax running up to billions of rand. Wiese spoke to our presenter Sakina Kamwendo this afternoon. He says when he bought a company from ENS Africa he was not aware it owed tax.
