One of the people injured in yesterday's plane crash at Kameeldrift outside Pretoria has died in hospital. This brings to two the number of deceased. The Civil Aviation Authority is in the meantime continuing with investigations into the crash. The passengers are said to be foreigners from Australia and the Netherlands. An SABC team which will take part in the Trek-4-Mandela Centenary Climb this weekend at Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, got a heart warming surprise when they received a R10 000 donation from Nedbank live on SAfm this afternoon. The money will help to buy sanitary pads for girls who have no financial means to do so. Hundreds of girls across the country miss school because they have no sanitary wear. SABC journalists Gillian Pillay and Thabo Madilola will be among the group known as "Kili Conquerers" who will again push the boundaries. Pillay has compiled the following report.

The General Council of the Bar which registers advocates in the country, is meeting this weekend in order to thoroughly consider yesterday's court ruling by the Supreme Court of Appeal. The court ruled that the suspended Deputy National Director of Public prosecutions Nomgcobo Jiba, and National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) specialised commercial crimes head Lawrence Mrwebi, not be struck of the roll of advocates. The ruling being overturned had been made by the Pretoria High Court in 2016. The Appeal Court has ruled that Mrwebi be suspended for only six months starting on Friday, while Jiba will not be struck off. The court said Mrwebi's misconduct relating to the court case of Richard Mdluli, did not justify the decision by the GCB. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the Chairperson of the General Council of the Bar Advocate Vuyani Ngalwana SC.

Banks will no longer be able to throw their hands up in the air on the issue of illegal debit orders. Consumers have been up in arms over the years regarding deductions made from their accounts without authorisation. These transactions have been going undetected because banks only notify their clients if a payment of more than R100 is made. A new system known as DebiCheck will compel the banks to seek permission from their clients everytime a company wants to effect a debit order. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the CEO of the Payment Association of South Africa, Walter Volker.

Thousands of men and some women have embarked on a 100 Men March to the Union Building in Pretoria, to raise awareness about violence against women and children. Several Ministers, representatives of SARS, the police, the Tshwane Metro Police, NGOs and government departments have taken part. The Supreme Court of Appeal has dismissed the counter appeal by the General Council of the Bar of SA (GCB) and overturned a high court ruling that called for Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions Nomgcobo Jiba and Special Director of Public Prosecutions Lawrence Mrwebi to be struck off the roll of advocates. Jiba and Mrwebi were struck off the roll on September 15, 2016, by Judge Francis Legodi who agreed with the General Council of the Bar of SA that they were "not fit and proper" for their jobs. The ruling came after their decision to drop charges against former Crime Intelligence head Richard Mdluli, who was facing a number of charges, which included defrauding a secret slush fund.
