Gangsterism is said to be on the increase at Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape, with seven people including a community newspaper reporter killed over the weekend. A meeting between the ANC Senior Officials including president Jacob Zuma and a faction that took the party's Kwa -Zulu natal leadership to court is believed to have run into the late hours of the night in Durban. The Gupta family is opposing the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse's application to freeze mine rehabilitation funds worth one-point-seven billion rand for two of their coal mines. OUTA last week obtained an interim order from the High Court in Pretoria which directed the Bank of Baroda to continue to hold the trust funds of the Optimum and Koornfontein mines.
