Power supply in the Johannesburg CBD will be restored to full capacity by the end of the day. This as City Power technicians are working around the clock the replace underground power cables. Power supply was severely disrupted in the CBD after criminals gained access to the city's underground electricity cables and stole copper worth millions of rands used to supply electricity. Scores of businesses and thousands of customers have been affected.

The assasult case surrounding Grace Mugabe, has now taken a new twist with Zimbabwe's First Lady now denying assaulting 20-year-old model Gabriella Engels with an electric cable and instead claiming that an "intoxicated and unhinged" Engels attacked her with a knife. Mugabe makes the claims in a previously unseen statement to the South African police, widely reported by Reuters. Mugabe's statements also claim Engels had been in a fight with other women at a Johannesburg nightclub the night before her encounter with Zimbabwe's First lady. The young model suffered a deep gash to her forehead and bruising to her body during the alleged assault by Mugabe.
