Young girls, especially in rural areas such as the Eastern Cape, are vulnerable to abduction, rape, violent abuse and premature marriage under the guise of the so-called Ukuthwala Custom. It's official Zwelinzima Vavi is the secretary-general of the newly-launched labour federation SAFTU. SAFTU's three-day inaugural congress wraped on Sunday in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. About 1000 Illegal miners have settled into the Kenilworth Cemetery in Kimberley, in the Northern Cape. The cemetery houses some of the oldest graves in the city. The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has suffered yet another loss of a prominent member in the province.
