The office of the President says President Jacob Zuma has accepted His Majesty Vha Venda King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana 's proposal that the Vhembe District Municipality should provide services to the people of Vuwani while a solution on the demarcation issue is being sought. This was announced after Zuma met with the King and other stakeholders in Vuwani. Violence then broke out Nandoni sports ground after Zuma abandoned his address to thousands of residents who waited for him for the entire day. Three SABC News vehicles were stoned and windows smashed by an angry crowd who we demanding for Zuma to come and address them. Our reporter Rudzani Tshivhase reports.

Deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa has apologised for the way in which the Marikana shootings unfolded, but has denied any involvement in the killing of 34 Lonmin miners almost five years ago. Addressing students at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, Ramaphosa said his role at Lonmin was to prevent further killings.He later addressed an ANC Cadres' Forum in Joza, also in Grahamstown. Eastern Cape Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC, Mlibo Qoboshiyane has condemned the shooting of eleven cattle, allegedly by a commercial farmer in Kruisrivier near Uitenhage. He has described it as an insult. He visited the farm on which the cattle are kept and has met with the family. Nine cattle have died and the farmer is reported to have barred the owners from taking them, as Anda Nqonji reports
