One of them, an SAfm listener, Lee Fearick, who sent us a message on Twitter says he wrote his last paper in July of 2016 at Sir John Adamson High School in the South of Johannesburg and is still to receive his matric results. 21 year old Fearick split his matric subjects so he could write them over two years, taking advantage of the Second Chance Matric Programme that is supposed to give learners who failed matric an opportunity to re-write and hopefully obtain their matric. The Communication Worker's Union (CWU) has added its voice in calling for President Jacob Zuma not to be allowed as a guest speaker at the May Day celebration on the 1st of May. This follows a request to COSATU by the National Education Health and Workers Union (NEHAWU) that President Zuma be replaced by an eligible leader of the ANC as the main speaker at the rally. The Hawks have arrested a 23-year old man in Midrand for allegedly plotting to assassinate officials perceived as state capture beneficiaries. The Hawks says officers intercepted communication material of possible assassinations of several members of Cabinet, state-owned entities and other prominent South Africans. Hawks spokesperson, Hangwane Mulaudzi says the African man is a founding member of the Anti-State Capture Death Squad Alliance.
