A number of opposition parties seeking to remove President Jacob Zuma from office have vowed to continue with the campaign until their mission is accomplished. The DA, EFF, COPE, ACDP, APC, UDM and IFP led thousands of supporters as well as civil society members to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, calling for President Zuma to step down. The parties blame President Zuma's recent cabinet reshuffle for the country's worsening economic situation compounded by the credit rating downgrade by two global ratings agencies. At least 4 out of 10 workers use public transport to reach their workplace. But with the ongoing bus strike, many have been affected and couldn't reach their destinations on time. The Minister of Finance, Malusi Gigaba, says there will be no deviation from the Public Finance Management Act at a time when nuclear energy is procured. There have been concerns about the country's ability to afford the nuclear build programme. Gigaba was addressing investors as well as stakeholders yesterday morning (Wednesday 12 April) at the Development Bank of Southern Africa in Midrand. He assured them that government will continue working towards ensuring that inclusive growth is achieved.
