The South African Federation of Trade Unions will be launched in Boksburg on the east Rand today( 21 April). The launch is spearheaded by former COSATU General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi who was expelled from the labour federation in 2015. Twenty-One ( 21) trade unions expected to join in with several affiliates from Cosatu such as metal-workers union NUMSA, and food workers union forming part of the new workers federation. Vavi says the aim of the federation is to win back the trust of workers, emphasising that it would not be aligned to any political party. Mbongeni Muthwa reports

Nelson Mandela Foundation CEO, Sello Hatang, says society has entered what he describes as an era of vulgarity. This after artist, Ayanda Mabulu, painted an image that depicts President Jacob Zuma performing a sexual act on Madiba. It's being interpreted as raping the former president's legacy. The Hawks have arrested a controversial Durban-based Nigerian Pastor,who is wanted in connection with alleged sexual assault, at Port Elizabeth Airport. He is accused of taking girls to his uMhlanga House in KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly sexually molested them. The Hawks initially planned his arrest at his Bloemfontein Congregation last Friday, but he did not arrive to deliver his sermon. Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has come out strongly in support of governments Radical Economic Transformation. The Black Business Council has also rallied behind government. BBC president Danisa Baloyi says apartheid economic systems should change radically and immediately to empower the majority black people. Both the deputy president and Baloyi were speaking at the Black Business Council's Economy recovery dinner last night.
