Are these the 'last days?' According to the author of Hebrews, yes!

But in these last days, we are not left alone. In these last days, we do not have to guess about God's plan. In these last days, we don't have to wonder how our story ends. And that's because in these last days, God has spoken through His Son - the definitive source has given a definitive word on our future. That will be the focus of today's sermon from Hebrews 1.

1) How do we know these are the last days? When did they start?
2) In what way is Christ's word superior (and sufficient) to all that preceded Him?
3) What has Christ told us about the future? Why should we trust His words?

Is faith in Jesus Christ the ONLY WAY to be saved? Is He the only way to Heaven? What do you think - why or why not?

As you know, there are a lot of religions and a lot of religious beliefs. This puts us in a quandary - because all those religions can't be right. Is cremation biblical? Does the Bible talk about cremation, and is there any Biblical precedent for pursuing it (over traditional burial)? Back in 1960, only 4% of Americans were cremated. As of 2020, that number is 52%. So this is certainly a timely question!

To be clear: God can (and does) save His people irrespective of what happens to their bodies after death. This issue does not affect the status of one's salvation. And yet, it is still one people have questions about, and so it is worth exploring. Today's recording comes from a recent Wednesday night class, and covers multiple passages.

Philosophy and theology are not the same thing. One looks inward, one looks upward. As a Christian, you need to consider the sources that are instructing you and your loved ones. Most sources rely on 'man centered wisdom' to teach other men. Depending on the topic, this is like the blind leading the blind. A transcendent source of revelation is much better. How are we to worship God? The short answer is this: the way that He has told us to.

Your job, your efforts, your struggles - they are all important to God.

The Bible tells us that everything we do has significance, even if we have trouble seeing how. What you do today matters, even if it seems boring or mundane. In the economy of God, nothing is ever mundane - and even small things have eternal implications.

Are you DEPRESSED? Are you beaten down? Do you wonder where God is in the middle of your hurts? Then here's some encouragement: God is nearer than you think, and He cares for you.

In Psalm 139, we see that although we travel through some dark valleys, we're never alone. God is always with us - and there are brighter days ahead.

The darkness hates the light. But why?

Well, just consider what the light does - it reveals and exposes. It chases shadows. It brings clarity. And if you like to operate in the darkness, then you'll avoid the light's rays. With that in mind, when Jesus came as the 'light of the world,' the world responded by killing Him.

The Gospel is NOT TOOTHLESS. The Gospel is NOT WEAK.

In Scripture, we see that the Gospel is called the "power of God" unto salvation. And if that's true, then we should treat it as Charles Spurgeon did - as a lion to be let out, not as something to hide, package or subjugate beneath other things. Just preach it!
