१९८९ मध्ये जम्मू-काश्मीरमध्ये हिंसक घटनांनी निर्माण झालेला तणाव आणि कायदा व सुव्यवस्थेची ढासळलेली स्थिती या पाश्र्वभूमीवर, जानेवारी १९९० मध्ये राज्यात राष्ट्रपती राजवट लागू करण्यात आली. १९ जानेवारी १९९० रोजी जगमोहन यांनी राज्यपालपदाची सूत्रे हाती घेतली. याआधी, म्हणजे १९८४ ते १९८९ या दरम्यानच्या काळातही ते जम्मू-काश्मीरचे राज्यपाल होते. १९९० मध्ये राज्यपालपदाची सूत्रं पुन्हा हाती घेतल्यानंतर राज्यातील वाढत्या हिंसाचाराला अटकाव करण्यासाठी त्यांनी जी पावलं उचलली आणि ज्या प्रकारची एककल्ली कार्यपद्धती राबवली, त्यामुळे त्यांची कारकीर्द वादग्रस्त ठरली. त्यामुळे सहा महिन्यांच्या आतच त्यांना या पदावरून मुक्त करण्यात आलं.

मुंबईतील श्रमजीवी मुस्लीम परिवारातील युवकाच्या प्रमुख व्यक्तिरेखेद्वारे भारतीय मुस्लिमांच्या मनातील मानसिक आंदोलनांचं कठोर परीक्षण करणारा सईद मिर्झा यांचा संवेदनशील चित्रपट 'सलीम लंगडे पे मत रो १९८९ साली प्रदर्शित झाला.

सईद मिर्झा यांनी स्वतःच लिहिलेल्या कथेवर आधारित या चित्रपटाचा नायक सलीम (पवन मल्होत्रा) हा एका गिरणी कामगाराचा मुलगा. दारिद्र्य आणि शिक्षणाचा अभाव या पार्श्वभूमीवर, सलीम भुरट्या चोऱ्या करतो, अधोलोकाशी संबंध ठेवतो. सांप्रदायिक विचारांच्या कर्मठ माणसांच्या तो सान्निध्यात येतो, त्याचप्रमाणे व्यापारातून सुस्थित झालेल्या व्यक्तींशीही त्याचा संवाद होतो. त्याच्या मित्रांच्या (आशुतोष गोवारीकर, मकरंद देशपांडे) संगतीत त्याला भावनिक सुरक्षितता लाभते. त्याच्या मनात उद्भवणाऱ्या प्रश्नांबद्दल तो त्यांच्याशी संवाद करत राहतो. पण अशा सलीमला खरा मानसिक आधार लाभतो, तो एक उदारमतवादी मुस्लीम अभ्यासक प्राध्यापक अस्लम याच्या सान्निध्यात. त्याच्यासोबतच्या सततच्या संवादानंतर सलीमचा आत्मशोध सुरू होतो.

किरणोत्सर्ग (रेडिएशन) आणि आयसोटोप तंत्रज्ञानातील विकास साधण्यासाठी बोर्ड ऑफ रेडिएशन अँड आयसोटोप टेक्नॉलॉजी अर्थात बीआयआयटी या संस्थेची १९८९ साली स्थापना करण्यात आली.

पुढील काळात या संस्थेच्या देशभरातील विविध भागांत अनेक प्रादेशिक शाखा निर्माण होऊन या क्षेत्रातील कार्याचा व्यापक स्तरावर विस्तार झाला. एकंदरीतच या व पुढील काही वर्षांत या क्षेत्रात अनेक महत्त्वपूर्ण घडामोडी घडून प्रगती साध्य झाली, अनेक जीवनोपयोगी सेवा उपलब्ध झाल्या. त्याचे तपशील खालीलप्रमाणे :

फार्मास्युटिकल प्रयोगशाळा : व्हेरिएबल एनर्जी सायक्लोट्रॉन सेंटरमध्ये रेडिओ फार्मास्युटिकल प्रयोगशाळेची स्थापना झाली. ३ जानेवारी, १९८९ रोजी कोलकात्यातील या रिजनल रेडिएशन मेडिसीन सेंटरचं उद्घाटन झालं. सायक्लोट्रॉनमध्ये तयार झालेल्या आयसोटोप्ससंबंधी संशोधनाचं कार्य इथं चालतं. नंतर राजस्थानमधील कोटाजवळील रावतभाटा येथील अॅटॉमिक पॉवर स्टेशनमधून कोबाल्ट अॅक्टिव्हिटी मिळवून पुढच्या प्रक्रियेसाठी पाठवली गेली.

Informative session about the important personality. Rajaram Bhosle I (24 February 1670 – 3 March 1700)[1] was the third Chhatrapati of Maratha Empire, who ruled from 1689 to his death in 1700. He was the second son of the Shivaji, the founder of the empire and younger half-brother of Sambhaji, who he succeeded. His eleven-year reign was marked with a constant struggle against the Mughals. He was succeeded by his infant son Shivaji II under the regentship of his widow Tarabai.
