दक्षिण आशियाई देशांमधील परस्पर सहकार्यासाठी 'सार्क'ची स्थापना
दक्षिण आशियाई देशांमधील परस्परसहकार्य वाढवण्याच्या दृष्टीने ‘सार्क' अर्थात साऊथ एशियन अँड रिजनल को-ऑपरेशन या संघटनेची ७-८ डिसेंबर, १९८५ रोजी बांगलादेशातील ढाका येथे झालेल्या पहिल्या शिखर परिषदेद्वारे स्थापना झाली.

१९८५ मध्ये भारताचे तत्कालीन वाणिज्यमंत्री विश्वनाथ प्रतापसिंह यांनी नवं आयात-निर्यात धोरण जाहीर करून खाजगी क्षेत्राला अनेक वस्तूंची खुली आयात करण्याची मुभा दिली आणि परवाना पद्धतीच्या शिथिलीकरणाला सुरुवात केली.

अनुसूचित जाती-जमाती तसंच भूमिहीन शेतमजुरांना घरं मोफत उपलब्ध करण्याच्या उद्देशाने मे १९८५ मध्ये ग्रामीण भूमिहीन रोजगार हमी कार्यक्रमांतर्गत एका उपयोजनेच्या स्वरूपात इंदिरा आवास योजना सुरू करण्यात आली.

Sayajirao Gaekwad (born Shrimant Gopalrao Gaekwad; 11 March 1863 – 6 February 1939) was the Maharaja of Baroda State from 1875 to 1939, and is remembered for reforming much of his state during his rule. He belonged to the royal Gaekwad dynasty of the Marathas which ruled parts of present-day Gujarat.

बंगाली स्थलांतरितांच्या मुद्द्यावरून पेटलेल्या आसाममद्धे आसाम कराराद्वारे शांती प्रस्थापित
बंगालीभाषक स्थलांतरितांच्या आसाममधील वर्चस्वाच्या मुद्द्यावरून ऑल आसाम स्टुडंट्स युनियन व आसाम गणसंग्राम परिषद या स्थानिक संघटनांनी उभारलेल्या आंदोलनाने १९८३ मध्ये उग्र रूप धारण केलं होतं; त्यानंतरच्या सुमारे दोन वर्षांतील केंद्र सरकारचे समस्या-समाधानाचे प्रयत्न निष्फळ ठरले होते. या पार्श्वभूमीवर, पंतप्रधान राजीव गांधी यांच्या पुढाकाराने केंद्र सरकार व आंदोलक संघटना यांच्यामध्ये १५ ऑगस्ट, १९८५ रोजी आसाम करार झाला व समस्येचं निराकरण करण्याची प्रक्रिया सुरू झाली.
कॅनडातील खलिस्तानवादी अतिरेकी संघटनेद्वारे 'कनिष्क' विमानात बॉम्बस्फोट
१९८४ मध्ये 'ऑपरेशन ब्लू स्टार' अंतर्गत अमृतसरच्या सुवर्णमंदिरावर कारवाई केल्याचा बदला म्हणून कॅनडातील खलिस्तानवादी अतिरेकी संघटनेने २३ जून, १९८५ रोजी एअर इंडियाच्या 'कनिष्क' या विमानात स्फोट घडवून आणला.

पंजाबमध्ये शांतता प्रस्थापित करण्यासाठी राजीव-लोंगोवाल करार
इंदिरा गांधी यांच्या हत्येच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर, डिसेंबर १९८४ मध्ये झालेल्या सार्वत्रिक निवडणुकांमध्ये काँग्रेस पक्षाला प्रचंड बहुमत मिळून पंतप्रधान राजीव गांधी यांचं सरकार पुन्हा सत्तारूढ झाल्यानंतर राजीव गांधी यांनी राजकीय मार्गाने पंजाबमध्ये शांतता प्रस्थापित करण्याच्या दिशेने पावलं उचलली. त्याला अकाली दलाचे नेते संत हरचरणसिंग लोंगोवाल यांनी सकारात्मक प्रतिसाद दिला. उभय नेत्यांमध्ये वाटाघाटी होऊन २४ जुलै, १९८५ रोजी 'राजीव लोंगोवाल करार' करण्यात आला.
Informative session about the important personality. Tanaji Malusare was a military General of the Maratha Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A legendary poet Tulsidas, wrote a powada describing Tanaji's heroics and sacrifice of life in the Battle of Sinhagad, which has since made him a popular figure in Marathi folklore. He came from a Hindu Koli family.
Pandit Birju Maharaj (born Brijmohan Nath Mishra; 4 February 1937 – 17 January 2022) was an Indian dancer, composer, singer and exponent of the Lucknow "Kalka-Bindadin" Gharana of Kathak dance in India. He was a descendant of the Maharaj family of Kathak dancers, which includes his two uncles, Shambhu Maharaj and Lachhu Maharaj, and his father and guru, Acchan Maharaj. He also practised Hindustani classical music and was a vocalist. After working along with his uncle, Shambhu Maharaj at Bhartiya Kala Kendra, later the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, he remained head of the latter, for several years, till his retirement in 1998 when he opened his own dance school, Kalashram, also in Delhi.
