जुलै १९५७ मध्ये केंद्रीय मजूरमंत्री गुलझारीलाल नंदा यांच्या पुढाकाराने सरकार, मालक व कामगारसंघटना यांच्या प्रतिनिधींची पंधरावी त्रिपक्षीय ‘अखिल भारतीय कामगार परिषद' आयोजित केली गेली. त्यात ‘आयटक’ व ‘इंटक' या कामगारांच्या महासंघांच्या पुढाकाराने वेतन धोरणासंदर्भात पुढील काळात महत्त्वपूर्ण ठरलेले प्रस्ताव ठेवले गेले व त्यानंतर त्यांनी त्याचा परिणामकारकतेने पाठपुरावा केला. या घटनेनंतर व एकंदरीतच १९५०च्या दशकातील आर्थिक मागण्यांसाठी त्यांनी दिलेले महत्त्वपूर्ण लढे यांमुळे 'आयटक' व 'इंटक' हे राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील संघटित कामगारक्षेत्राचं प्रतिनिधित्व करणारे प्रभावी महासंघ म्हणून पुढे आले.

Informative session about the important personality. Jaywant Dalvi was a prominent contemporary Marathi writer in Maharashtra, India, originally from Arawali in Maharashtra. He worked as an assistant editor at Marathi newspapers Prabhāt and Lokmānya, and later with USIS. efforts to make good English literature available in other languages, Dalvi selected texts and able translators, and helped the cause. He took an early retirement to concentrate on writing novels. He is best remembered for his dramas, and a humorous column on Marathi literary personalities which he wrote under the pseudonym: ThanthanpaaL. Jaywant Dalvi had a long time friendly relations with noted Marathi literary couple Pu La Deshpande and Sunita Deshpande.

Namdeo Dhondo Mahanor is a Marathi poet, lyricist, farmer and former MLC. He was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour of India, by the President of India in 1991. In addition to writing books, he has also written lyrics for Marathi movies like 'Jait re Jait', 'Doghi; 'Ek Hota Vidushak'. 

Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit FRS was a physicist, inventor, and scientific instrument maker. Fahrenheit was born in Danzig, then a predominantly German-speaking city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. He later moved to the Dutch Republic at age 15, where he spent the rest of his life (1701–1736) and was one of the notable figures in the Golden Age of Dutch science and technology.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya KCIE FASc, more commonly known as Sir MV, was an Indian civil engineer, statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore, serving from 1912 to 1919. He pursued his degree from one of the best and the 3rd oldest engineering college in Asia, College of Engineering, Pune.

Gangadhar Gopal Gadgil was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was born in Mumbai in 1923. After receiving a master's degree in economics from the University of Mumbai, he worked as a professor of economics at Sydenham College and also a few other colleges in Mumbai.

Daya Pawar or Dagdu Maruti Pawar was an Indian Marathi language author and poet known for his contributions to Dalit literature that dealt with the atrocities experienced by the dalits or untouchables under the Hindu caste system. He was born to a Mahar Dalit family in Dhamangaon. He was a Buddhist by religion.

१९५६ मध्ये न्यूझीलंड विरुद्ध झालेल्या तीन कसोटीय मालिकेतील ६ जानेवारी ते १० जानेवारी, १९५६ दरम्यान मद्रास (चेन्नई) येथील चिपॉक मैदानावर झालेल्या तिसऱ्या क्रिकेट कसोटी सामन्यात भारताचे सलामीवीर पंकज रॉय (१७३) आणि वि मॅकड (२३१) यांनी पहिल्या विकेटसाठी ४१३ धावांची विक्रमी भागीदारी केली. क्रिकेट इतिहासा तील पहिल्या विकेटसाठीचा विक्रम आजवर अबाधित राहिला.

Ram Boolchand Jethmalani was an Indian lawyer and politician. He served as India's Union minister of law and justice, as chairman of the Indian Bar Council, and as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. He was noted in the Indian legal fraternity for his forte in criminal law and high-profile civil cases.

Benjamin Peary Pal or B.P. Pal was an Indian plant breeder and agronomist who served as a director of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in Delhi and as the first Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He worked on wheat genetics and breeding but was also known for his interest in rose varieties.

अणुऊर्जेवर चालणारी भारताची पहिली अणुभट्टी 'अप्सरा' कार्यान्वित

भारतात अणुऊर्जा क्षेत्रातील संशोधनकार्यास १९४८ पासून सुरुवात झाली, तरी डॉ. होमी भाभा यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली पूर्ण भारतीय बनावटीची, अणुऊर्जेच्या इंधनावर चालणारी 'अप्सरा' अणुभट्टी १९५५ साली तयार झाली आणि त्यायोगे या क्षेत्रातील तोपर्यंतच्या कार्यातील यशाची खऱ्या अर्थाने नांदी झाली. ४ ऑगस्ट, १९५६ रोजी दुपारी साडेतीन वाजता ही 'अप्सरा' कार्यान्वित (क्रिटिकल) करण्यात भारतीय शास्त्रज्ञांना यश प्राप्त झालं.
