तिबेटला चीनकडून अधिकाधिक स्वायत्तता लाभावी यासाठी तिबेटचे धर्मगुरू व राज्यप्रमुख दलाई लामा यांचे प्रयत्न सुरू असतानाच १९५८ मध्ये तिबेटमधील खंपा जमातीने उठाव केल्यावर या उठावाला दलाई लामा यांचं प्रोत्साहन असावं, असा संशय निर्माण झाला व त्यामुळे चीन शासनाकडून त्यांना अटक होईल असे संकेत मिळाल्यावर १७ मार्च, १९५९ रोजी दलाई लामा यांनी तिबेटमधून पलायन केलं आणि ३१ मार्च, १९५९ रोजी त्यांना भारतात आश्रय लाभला..

Abhay Bang and Rani Bang are Indian social activists and researchers working in the field of community health in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, India. They have revolutionized healthcare for the poorest people in India and have overseen a programme that has substantially reduced infant mortality rates in one of the most poverty-stricken areas in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF have endorsed their approach to treating newborn babies and the programme is currently being rolled out across India and in parts of Africa. Abhay and Rani Bang founded the Society For Education, Action and Research in Community Health (SEARCH) – a non-profit organisation, which is involved in rural health service and research. The couple is the winner of the Maharashtra Bhushan Award. Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow has conferred honorary doctorates on Abhay and Rani Bang. SNDT Women's University, Mumbai has also awarded honoris causa to Rani Bang. The Lancet has honoured the couple as "the pioneers of health care in rural India". 

Friedrich Wöhler FRS HFRSE was a German chemist, known for his work in inorganic chemistry, being the first to isolate the chemical elements beryllium and yttrium in pure metallic form. He was the first to prepare several inorganic compounds including silane and silicon nitride. Wöhler is known for seminal contributions in organic chemistry, in particular the Wöhler synthesis of urea. His synthesis of the organic compound urea in the laboratory from inorganic precursors refuted the prevailing belief that organic compounds could only be produced by living organisms due to a "life force". Wöhler also introduced the concept of a functional group, which was a new concept that advanced understanding of organic compounds.

27 सप्टेंबर, १९५८ रोजी मिहीर सेन या जलतरणपटूने इंग्लिश खाडी पोहून जाण्याचा पराक्रम केला आणि ही खाडी पोहून जाणारे मिहीर सेन हे पहिले भारतीय आणि आशियाई जलतरणपटू ठरले. इंग्लिश खाडी पोहून जाणं हे एक खडतर आव्हान मानलं जातं. इंग्लिश खाडी पोहून जाणं याचा अर्थ इंग्लंडमधील डोव्हर ते फ्रान्समधील कॅलाईस असं २२ मैलांचं अंतर पोहून जाणं असा होतो. या खाडीतील हवामान खूप लहरी असतं आणि पाणीही खूप थंड असतं. ही खाडी पार करण्यासाठी साधारण १२ त १६ तास लागतात, मात्र इतका .सलग काळ चांगली हवा टिकत नाही.

Informative session about the important personality. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, born in Kumbhoj, Kolhapur, was a social activist and educator in Maharashtra, India. A strong advocate of mass education, he founded the Rayat Education Society. Bhaurao played an important role in educating backward castes and low income people by coining the philosophy earn and learn. He was a prominent member of Satyashodhak Samaj (Truth seeker's society), founded by Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. The people of Maharashtra honoured him with the sobriquet Karmaveer (King of actions) and the Government of India awarded him with Padma Bhushan in 1959 in India.

महाकवी कालिदास यांच्या अभिजात साहित्याचा व कलाकृतींचा राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील विद्वानांना व रसिकांना परिचय व्हावा आणि कलात्मक आविष्कारातून त्यांच्या साहित्यप्रतिभेचा आस्वाद साध्य व्हावा, या .उद्देशाने उज्जैनमध्ये सर्वप्रथम १९५८ मध्ये कालिदास समारोहाचं. आयोजन करण्यात आलं. पहिल्या समारोहाचं उद्घाटन तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपती डॉ. राजेंद्रप्रसाद यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आलं आणि अल्पावधीतच या महोत्सवाला राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर मान्यता लाभली. दरवर्षी नोव्हेंबर महिन्यातील कार्तिकी एकादशीच्या दिवशी सुरू होऊन सप्ताहभर चालणारा हा वार्षिक महोत्सव सहा दशकांनंतरही विनाखंड सुरू राहिला.

Informative session about the important personality. Sadanand Rege सदानंद रेगे was a Marathi poet, playwright, short-story writer, translator, cartoonist and painter. He was born in Rajapur, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. During his lifetime, his twenty eight books were published. His three books of poetry won government of Maharashtra award for literary achievements. His translation of Vladimir Mayakovsky's poems into Marathi: 'Pant Ghatlela Dhag' won him Soviet Land Nehru Award. He was a trained painter and even held two exhibitions of his paintings in Norway where he was traveling. He taught at Ramnarain Ruia College from 1962 until his death in 1982. Earlier he held a number of jobs including a stint in Indian Railways as a clerk.
