South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has rejected US President Donald Trump's threat to bar his nation from next year's G20 summit in the United States.

It comes after the US boycotted this year's event in Pretoria, and as Mr Trump repeats allegations that "white genocide" is unfolding in South Africa.

As a diplomatic dispute between China and Japan escalates, the Japanese Prime Minister has confirmed she's had a conversation with US president Donald Trump.

According to several media reports, the US President asked Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi not to further escalate a dispute with China during talks last week as he tries to preserve a fragile trade war truce with Beijing.

Shadow Home Affairs Minister Jonno Duniam yesterday floated the idea of a citizenship-style test of Australian values for aspiring migrants, telling the Sunday Telegraph that current test standards need to be improved. 

A group of Year 7 students have banded together to help create a prosthetic hand for their classmate.

Lois Agnello was born with only part of her left hand. Her fellow students from The Nature School in Port Macquarie have used a design from the Australian charity Free 3D Hands, which develops assistive devices.

Now they've taken their project all the way to a youth summit in Japan in the hope they can print limbs for other kids in need.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has submitted a request to be pardoned after a years-long corruption trial on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.

He said it was in the national interest and believed he would be acquitted if the trial reached its end.

It follows recent pressure from the US President Donald Trump for his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog to issue a pardon.
