          FRANKFORT HIGH SCHOOL REMAINS CLOSED FOLLOWING A SUNDAY MORNING CLASSROOM FIRE THAT CAUSED EXTENSIVE SMOKE AND WATER DAMAGE. WHILE CLEANUP CREWS WORK TO RESTORE THE THIRD-STORY SPACE, STUDENTS HAVE TRANSITIONED TO VIRTUAL LEARNING AND RECEIVED MEALS FOR THE WEEK. DISTRICT OFFICIALS SAY THE CAUSE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION, AND A REOPENING DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN SET.

          TWO TEENAGERS ARE IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING THE FATAL SHOOTING OF SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DANNADY GREENE AT A LOUISVILLE BUS STOP. POLICE SAY GREENE WAS SHOT ON AUGUST 25TH AFTER REFUSING TO FIGHT ANOTHER GIRL. INVESTIGATORS USED LOCAL LICENSE PLATE CAMERAS AND CELL PHONE DATA TO LOCATE THE SUSPECTS ACROSS THE RIVER IN INDIANA, RECOVERING THE MURDER WEAPON. BOTH SUSPECTS CURRENTLY FACE JUVENILE CHARGES.  CITY LEADERS WANT THEM TRIED AS ADULTS.

          THE LOUISVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT DEALT WITH A THREE ALARM APARTMENT FIRE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT SECOND AND HILL STREETS IN OLD LOUISVILLE.
          AT LEAST TWO APARTMENTS IN THE BUILDING WERE ON FIRE AS CREWS ARRIVED ON SCENE, JUST BEFORE 2PM.  ONE FIREFIGHTER WAS TRANSPORTED TO U OF L HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.  NO WORD YET ON A CAUSE FOR THE BLAZE OR A DAMAGE AMOUNT.

Federal prosecutors say thirty-eight-year-old Zachary Hess Dawson made false claims to the V-A alleging he suffered from P-T-S-D while serving in Afghanistan. Dawson faces up to ten additional years in federal prison.

In Lewis County, a restaurant worker detained during high-profile federal immigration raids in Weston earlier this summer has been deported to Guatemala. Family members say Erick Cristal Cumes is now reunited with relatives abroad after being taken into custody by I-C-E officers at a local Don Patron restaurant in May. His wife reports she is currently making arrangements to move to Guatemala to join him.

In Ritchie County, law enforcement authorities are warning parents and students about a viral AI-generated social media trend using images of the "Cat in the Hat" to target schools with threatening messages.
