A broadcast I wish I didn't have to record. I know so many of you will be greatly saddened by the death of John Virgo at the age of 79. He was such a treasured part of our snooker lives for generations.

I hope I've managed to do the tiniest bit of justice here to man who had a snooker CV like no other. Brilliant player, wonderful commentator, born entertainer. Totally irreplaceable.

Rest in peace, John. Thank you for the memories.

How many broadcasts is too many? Well, I'm sure you'll tell me. 

Judd Trump is the German Masters champion for the fourth time and I'm back to reflect on his victory over Shaun Murphy in the final in Berlin.

I'll give you ears a wee rest very soon, but before that I do intend to return in the next couple of days with your thoughts on whether Ronnie O'Sullivan will win an eighth world title.

I spoke to Ben Woollaston at Alexandra Palace, who tells me it's been a season of mostly downs for him but he is still hopeful of finishing on a high in the World Open and then when he goes to Sheffield for World Championship qualifying.
