EVERYBODY WANTED A HUGG IN THE ALAMO CITY! 🫂🔥

We just got back from an absolutely INCREDIBLE SSA Spring Conference in San Antonio, and let me tell you, the energy was off the charts! 📈

Safehugg.com was proud to sponsor two MASSIVE events: the Manager’s Forum on Wednesday and the Women’s Council on Thursday. Both were huge successes, and almost ALL of our Hugg notebooks were snatched up! 📓 The absolute highlight? An attendee at the Women’s Council took the mic and said:

"I always come to these shows hoping to find something good, and I did when I found Safehugg.com." WOW! That is exactly why we do this! 💙 Huge shoutout to the SSA for a brilliantly run show and for feeding us some seriously GOOD GRUB. 🌮 And we can't forget the Storelocal gang, who threw a legendary Tuesday night HOE DOWN! Emily, Travis, Lance, Lauri, and Brad were all out there mingling like pros! 🤠👢

BLOWING OFF STEAM ON THE AIRWAVES 🚂💨

After a week like that, we need to release some energy! We are coming out of the gate FAST this week to get the party started:

Headline: EPIC BELATED BIRTHDAY BASH & UNBELIEVABLE SURPRISES! 🎂⚡️

My belated birthday show was an absolute ROCKER, and the universe delivered some mind-blowing presents this year! 🤯

👖 Blast from the Past: My lifelong friend Doug Casner called and completely FLOORED me—he found a vintage Strider Pant Company bag! Back in my late 20s and early 30s, my great pal Hud Jones, his mom Lois, and I owned two Levi's stores down in El Paso, TX. Our buddy "Joe Ocho" designed this bag, and it was so ICONIC people would take it home just to stare at it. I haven’t seen one in over 40 YEARS! (Hey, Big L—our producer extraordinaire—if you still have the picture, please drop it in this post! 👇)

🖼️ A Handmade Masterpiece: Next up, my long-time pal and killer drummer Andre Bonaguidi sent me a handmade, signed print created by his sister, Linda R. He only sent these out to 4 or 5 of his closest pals, and let me tell you, it is an absolute BEAUTY! ✨

Honestly, my birthday was already PERFECT before I even hit the studio... and I think this makes EIGHT birthdays celebrated right here behind the mic! 🎙️🥳

🤘 Rockers Helping Rockers: For the music, we are featuring tracks from Silver Patron Saints—an incredible benefit album put together for rocker Jesse Malin, who is recovering from a very rare spinal stroke. Heavyweights like Billie Joe from Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, Spoon, and many more joined forces to raise money for Jesse’s medical bills. That’s what it’s all about! ❤️‍🩹

I’m just about out of space, but you KNOW I’m spinning the absolute best tunes for you today... ’cause after all, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! 🎁🎶

Thanks for celebrating with me! Let’s rock! 👽

Headline: A FILIPINO BOX SPRING HOG?! 🐷🎶 YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!

Odds are you do NOT have a track like this in your music library! You’ve literally got to hear it to believe it. Around here, we will play just about ANYTHING as long as it ROCKS AND ROLLS! 🎸🤘

✌️ In The Deuces: We’ve got The Kinks' classic I’m Not Like Everybody Else, covered by the ridiculously cool '60s Cali band, The Chocolate Watchband! 🍫🕰️

🦅 Rare Gems & Guitar Legends: Get ready for a RARE appearance by the Beastie Boys 🎤 and the mighty JOE WALSH (we fixed that typo for you! 😉) early in his career, shredding with the James Gang!

🔄 Back-to-Back & Rock Math:

• Bob Dylan and Bobby Darin are going BACK-TO-BACK with Lay Lady Lay and Mack the Knife! 🔪🎩
• Lucky for us, the legendary Paul Rodgers is pulling double duty with TWO of his bands: The Firm and The Law! That’s Rock n' Roll math right there: 1 + 1 = 4! 🤯🔥

🎸 The Massive Lineup: Rod Stewart and The Hollies are hitting the stage, alongside Guns N’ Roses 🔫🌹, Ian Hunter, and Maine’s very own Kris Rodgers and The Dirty Gems! 💎

🌏 International Update: Just got a killer video from our pal David Sweetlow out in Japan! 🇯🇵 We’re working on getting his brand-new song and a soundbite into NEXT week's show! Thanks for riding with the Wilder gang!

🎙️ Upcoming 'Conversations':

• April: Jim Mooney Jr., President of SBOA 🏢
• June: Travis Morrow, Chairman & CEO of Storelocal, LIVE in the studio! 🎙️
• Missed a chat? Head over to YouTube and search Radio Wilder to watch all our past 'Conversations'! 📺

Headline: FROM A CAPPELLA TO ABSOLUTE BEASTS! 🎤🎸

You don't hear much a cappella in Rock n' Roll, but when it hits, it hits HARD! 💥 Back in the early 70s, my bandmate Bill C. and I grabbed dinner in Historic Jamestown and strolled over to the Martha Wren Briggs Amphitheater at Lake Matoaka to catch Poco. They opened the show completely A CAPPELLA, and let me tell you—it remains one of the GREATEST concert openings of my entire life! 🙌✨

🗣️ Pure Vocals: To celebrate that epic memory, we are featuring AC Rock doing Hey Little Cobra in full a cappella glory, PLUS a classic track from Poco! We’re also keeping the vocal magic flowing with the absolutely BEAUTIFUL voice of Aldous Harding performing The Barrel. 🍷🎤

🤘 For The Rockers: Don't worry, we are still bringing the NOISE! We are kicking off the entire show with Avatar straight out of Sweden—and trust me, they are absolute BEASTS! 🇸🇪👹 We’re also packing the playlist with heavy hitters:

• Aerosmith 🦅
• Def Leppard 🐆
• Pearl Jam 🌊
• The Yardbirds 🎸

🍁 Special Guest: Finally, our good buddy from up north, Canada's own Al Harlow, is bringing us If It Wasn't For You. 🎶

Grab your coffee and come hang with us! 🗓️ GOING LIVE THURSDAY | ⏰ AROUND 8 AM EASTERN

And Kiki brought the romance with Your Greatest Love Story by The Allstars. 💕 We are ALWAYS thrilled to spin your picks!

✌️ Double The Hollies: We’re leading off the show with a DOUBLE DOSE of The Hollies! We are kicking down the doors with I'm Alive and catching a ride with Bus Stop! 🚌💨

🔥 The Biggies:

• Boston is hanging out to give us the EPIC Foreplay/Long Time. 🎸
• Chicago brings the brass with what many call their GREATEST hit ever, 25 or 6 to 4! 🎺🕰️

🤯 The Ultimate Team-Up & The Heat: Flashback to 2014! Former punk guitarist Wilko Johnson teams up with Roger Daltrey for an UNBELIEVABLE duo you have to hear to believe! Plus, Boz Scaggs is absolutely TURNING UP THE HEAT with Radiator 110! 🔥🌡️

✌️ In The Deuces: We’ve got Bonnie Raitt, Dr. Hook, and The Rooftop Singers strutting their stuff with Walk Right In! 🚪🚶‍♂️
