Learning a language and culture to fluency isn't about loving language. It's about loving the Lord Jesus and being faithful to His gospel.

What happens to the unprepared missionary candidate-- What happens on the field, in the sending church, and the missionary himself when missionary careers are prematurely ended. The fallout to everyone is large.

Learning the language and culture of a people cannot be allowed to be negotiable. Without fluency, syncretism or worse is the sure outcome.

An awareness of what is ahead for the gospel worker and his family is critical. North American values of family must be submitted to a biblical view of family.
