Rainbow Crimes - Beyond the Rainbow

So excited to be collaborating with yet another member of Darkcast Network! This episode I am joined by host Autumn of Autumn's Oddities as we each tackle a gay male nurse who was a killer. Autumn will be telling about Donald Harvey, a nurse who took at least 37 lives in Autumn's home state of Kentucky and Ohio. C.J. will cover The Last Call Killer from New York, Richard Rogers. Please join us for two stories of very bad men who were supposed to be saving lives, not taking them!

Heiress to the American Tobacco Company, Doris Duke, had a lot going for her. She did seem quite unlucky in love however. So, she gave up on love and took a gay, Italian decorator as her bestie, confidant and companion. His name, Eduardo Tirella. When he told Doris he was in love with a man on the west coast, he thought she would be thrilled for him. She was anything but thrilled.

Between the years of 1974 and 1975, a dark complected man would meet gay men in bars. He would impress them with quick drawings he sketched of them while they sat at the bar or maybe even a restaurant. The gay man would leave with the sketch artist and he would never be seen alive again. The sketch artist became known as the Doodler. An unidentified serial killer who slain between 5 and 14 men. 3 men survived the Doodler and told their stories but the Dooder is still at large.

This episode could be in fact on the Fear Thy Neighbor television show. But as far as I know it isn't...Sue Pittman and Christine Puckett were two lesbians very much in love. Their neighbor James Brooks, loathed the two women and put an end to their existence. Also part of this story includes Christine's son Josh, who after his mom's murder, wandered aimlessly through life as a teenager and then found himself wrongly imprisoned at the age of 18.

True Crime Quickie is another story of neighbor homophobic hate in New Hampshire. The case of Charlene Ranstrom and Brenda Warner.
