Recorded Monday 8/21, the fellas say a warm goodbye to the Angels only to see Ohtani and Trout both get injured Tuesday evening. Enough is enough.
Rankings are the same but some young guys are moving up awfully fast…even if they aren’t for playoff teams.
Little League World Series is happening and it’s the best. These kids are as big as us and hitting baseballs a lonnnggggg way.
RIP to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim… this year and for quite a few years in the future.
Funky pitching mechanics? Appreciate it and leave it in the past? Or reinstate and bring it back?
Let us know what you with @rakeurposition on twitter or [email protected]
The mystery is finally unraveled. IS JOE WEST TY COBB?
We take a look at the playoff picture because based on the numbers it seems like the field might already be set. But who cares about numbers? Well, they NEVER lie.
What’s going on with Wander Franco? We don’t know a lot, but we do wonder how this is even happening. Someone has got to tell that guy not to even get into that situation.
Did anyone find out what chapstick Michael Keaton uses? Does anyone even read this? If a guy writes a summary and no one reads it does Michael Keaton feel as sad as I do? Let me know @rakeurposition on twitter (or X? I refuse to actually call it that) or email us at [email protected]
It’s finally happened: we’re all ALMOST on the same page with the Rakings.
Soooooo we didn’t do super great at predicting the trade deadline. And let me tell you, we are as shocked as you are. We have obviously proved thus far that we are very knowledgeable and good at predictions.
We recap the deadline, talk about our favorite teams, teams that made deals we liked, and teams that made (or didn’t make) deals that we didn’t.
We VERY BRIEFLY look back at our preseason predictions (because we don’t ever need to talk about it again) and discuss the teams that have had a surprising year so far, before wrapping it up with our weekend series predictions.
ATHLETICS AND ROCKIES SERIES PREDICTIONS! WHO’S THE WORST??
Hall of Fame Weekend so we reminisce about the Crime Dog and Scotty Rolen. Two guys that you can’t say much bad about, except that Rolen was Ahron’s 2nd favorite 3rd basemen growing up. Right behind everyone’s favorite 3rd basemen from 1995, Jim Thome. Right, Ahron?
Oh, and we talk a lot about the upcoming trade deadline. Like a lot. We picked 15 guys, rubbed our magic balls and tried to figure out where they’re going. Are any of us going to get any of them right? Probably not. Did we have fun? Absolutely.
One of us is sick and at least one of us is stressed so this episode has about 85% of the energy normal episodes do, and 185% less than last episode. It’s still a good time though, so I hope you’ll join us.
Welcome to a very special episode of Rake Your Position where we are joined by some of the guys who lead us on our baseball journeys…and are always ready with a good quote.
We take a walk down memory lane and mention roughly 50% of the players that played at Pittsfield High School in the past 25 years and some of the shenanigans we got up to as both coaches and players.
If you’re part of Saukee Nation (or any small town) this episode is AB-SO-LUTEY for you, and if you're not it is still filled with a lot of fun baseball talk that I’m sure you may be able to relate to in one way or another.
We wrap it up with a fun Player vs. Coaches baseball themed family feud…some of these (old) guys don’t forget anything.
Thank you to our guests Coach Schultz, Coach Allen, and Little Coach Allen.
We’d love to hear what you think and if you have anything you’d like to hear from us hit us up at [email protected] and @rakeurposition on Twitter.
Rankings are much of the same, but maybe there’s some teams knocking on the door.
The oven is on in Oakland and the A’s hands are getting hot. And we’ve got some hot headed takes on some of the other things going on in the Bay.
Some position players other than Shohei Ohtani can bring the heat. And some can blow their arm out after 1 inning. It’s still great to see these guys come in and realize their dream of pitching in the bigs.
Finally we take a trip down memory lane and relive our childhoods and talk about our glorious Little League Days.
Hit us up with anything you want to hear about @rakeurposition on Twitter or [email protected]
Things get a litttttttle heated during the Rakings breakdown about the top two teams. We discuss our hits and mostly misses of our preseason predictions as our list slowly dwindles due to underperformance and injuries.
We discuss WAR and what it actually means and the finite amount to go around.
Robot umps are coming and we’re for it, but maybe not for the reasons you may think.
Have anything you’d like to hear us discuss? Hit us up on Twitter @rakeurposition or email us at [email protected].
