Welcome to 2025! Today we meet back up with Chris and Bryan to talk about another viking film, 2009’s Valhalla Rising. Which, spoiler alert, we do not talk about for 2 hours! We of course talk about how gorgeous of a film this is, how well done the fight scenes are but we also discuss the speed of the film and many other topics, such as how good Kobra Kai is (apparently).

Season 2: Episode 37: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

This week we celebrate the 50th episode of our show! Which was last episode where we talked about 12 Monkeys!

What better way to celebrate though then discussing a series that Andrew and Brennan both love. Star Wars is important to both of us and instead of focusing on just Rian Johnson’s entry in the saga, we kind of end up discussing our feelings on the “Sequel Trilogy” as a whole. Deciding that the problems with this movie, of which there are many, are often caused by the problems with the trilogy as a whole.  There are some great scenes and additions to the franchise, a lot of broken promises and some contentious feelings on the big sabre battle. All this and more on Chapter 7 of our discussion of Star Wars.

Season 2: Episode 36: 12 Monkeys (1995) 

This is a divisive one as Brennan enjoyed it but Andrew did not. Join us as we discuss why, and Andrew actually gives an articulate reason, unlike his seemingly endless hatred of Dredd. We discuss the highs and lows, what worked and what didn’t and how Brennan understood the third act completely differently from Andrew. We also meet Brennan’s new roommate, get distracted by cats and dogs and pick the next film.

Season 2: Episode 35: Summer School (1987) 

In this episode Brennan learns about Carl Reiner, Andrew shares his favourite episode from the past 2 seasons and they both talk about the 1987 comedy, Summer School. In this movie there are problematic scenes and relationships, but unlike most 80’s comedies,they actually discuss them. This is another fun, inoffensive film that you could watch with the whole family.

This movie honestly isn’t as bad as it may appear to be. It never takes itself to serious and neither do Andrew and Brennan. We discuss the rare horror hero, the VHS rental store origins of the reviewers and much more. Happy Halloween!!

Season 2: Episode 33: The Burbs (1989)

This week Brennan and Andrew talk about The Burbs. Another 1989 film, this one with fantastic performances from people like Carrie Fischer, Wendy Schaal and Corey Feldman, paired with, in Andrew’s opinion, a subpar Tom Hanks. 

Andrew really didn’t like the ending and disliked the story a bit but both he and Brennan greed that this was a perfectly ok movie.

Brennan and Andrew talk about probably THE John Candy movie, the John Hughes directed, 1989 comedy classic, Uncle Buck. There is not a ton to say about this movie other than it’s an iconic film and one of John Hughes and John Candy’s most well known films. Not much else to say other than…BECKY!

DRUM ME IN THE FACE WURT! This week the boys talk about Over The Garden Wall, a tv miniseries by Patrick McHale about two boys as they become brothers. Andrew talks about how he uses it in Art and Drama classes, and Brennan reminisces about the best time they watched this show together.
