  • Wierd Problem On Server, F1 & Overheating
    My server was requiring me to push F1 during restarts to continue because of an error being thrown, so I turned that flag off in the Bios but left the logging enabled so I could see what the problem actually is in Event Viewer. While trying to fix that issue realized that the server was overheating, so I fix that also.

  • Fixing Your Computer's Clock By Switching Out A Tiny Battery
    So, the clocks on all of our computers have been slow lately, and when I change the time on our server to the correct time updates all the computers on the network, but then after a few days will be slow again. I was on vacation for a week, and when I came back the time was off by 30 minutes. I think the problem is the battery on the motherboard of our server.

  • OwnCloud "Conflict" Files Will Not Sync
    I use a NAS device to house a repository of files, mostly PDF, that synchronizes to a web server hosted on the Amazon Cloud. There were quite a few files that had trouble synchronizing and kept creating duplicate and locked and conflict files. So I fixed it.

  • You Can't Shut Down Your DNS Server And Then Keep Remoting Into Things On The Network
    We have kind of a weird server setup at the office where we run a physical server and a virtual server, and the virtual server is kind of the brain of our network; which means that we have to shut down the brain to reboot the body when it comes time for maintenance tasks like Windows updates.

    A hyperlink setup in GoDaddy Website Builder wasn't working - and it was acting different on different computers and in different browsers. So I made the link open in a new tab, not ideal, but it got the job done.
