From time to time we are presented with a mix which takes us by surprise, in this day and age everyone's a dj... However, then there are those who can pick and choose with the utmost precision, Ty Abiodun is one.

He reached out to us early this year with a humble email, a mix attached and a reccomendation from a previous upload. We were wholeheartdely impressed by the music he presented and were instantly keen to include him in our 'shine a light on' series. This site has never been about the biggest names but about showcasing musicality and talent from whichever source it might appear from. As a graphic designer by day Ty Abiodun simply has a deeply rooted love of music... it shows.

Ah, the post weekend blues. The abstract feeling of loneliness and sadness as you return from fond adventures and back to the world of work. However, fear not for a Monday can be a blessing in disguise, especially one as soundtracked as beautifully as this. We are delighted to welcome the ambient and eclectic tastes of Tryst to our series - a husband and wife duo from London with an impressive taste in electronic music and the realms of odd. This mix features a sprawling array of aural accompaniments for the weary and the tired including tracks by H. Takahashi, Minilogue and Space Afrika. It also features new music from the pair who are set to release their debut release as a duo on Apparel Tronic later this month...

It's funny to think that Richard Sen has been so prevalent amidst the electronic music community for so long given that he remains such a focused presence on the edge of the underground and cutting edge communities.

His music is timeless and channels a vast array of influences and structures. Sporadic, wild and free he has never been one to be tamed, placed in a box and told how to play. From his youthful days spent painting ths mean streets of London through to his acid laden take on old school club music he has amassed a reputation as one of the best in Britain. Recent outings on the likes of Emotional [Especial] and Firehouse only demonstrate his immense talent even more.

Here is a familiar face for the London crew... Will Lister is slowly but steadily amassing a reputation as a bit of a production mogul with his jazzy, luxurious take on house which has been featured on the likes of Phonica Records, Joy In Repetition and most recently on a new split EP on ANMA Records. His sound sees him blend jazzy excursions with club focused production which sits somewhere between the intricate sounds emerging from Peckham at the present and the full scale orchestration of Floating Points. Packed with musicality he appears to be a rising talent and a man very much in demand. One to watch in the coming years.

We invited him to contribute to our 'shine a light on' mix series and he has delivered in fine style. He will also be appearing at Farr Festival this summer so keep your eyes peeled.
