Ransom Note

Lehult has moved from strength to strength since it was first brought to life back in 2014. The label run by Dj Assam and his friends has established itself a sound which sits somewhere between the playful elements of house and abstract electronics. Together the crew have released music by the likes of Johan Kaseta, Liem, Tony Rainwater and many more.

Dj Assam has remained a strong presence behind the label having helped guide the path and musical direction across a number of years. He himself has released several times on the label and remains a figurehead behind the 'sound'. Now based in Berlin he has taken some time out to record a mix which represents both himself and the label.

Earlier this year marked the announcement of a newly launched record label from the Paris based maestro Geena, a producer whom has amassed a reputation for his intriguing, ethereal take on house and club music.

Antinote, the record label run by Zaltan, has largely been responsible for helping his career to date having released five of his EP's since 2013, many of which have been widley supported and heavily played.

Now as he approaches a new chapter in his career we have invited him to contribute to our mix series, it's long overdue. The first release forthcoming on Worldwide Zen is a self release under his own name of Nicolas Molina.

A familiar face with an unfamiliar sound.... That is the agenda for the latest edition of the Monday mix series as we invite Jimpster to contribute to our ever growing series. The Freerange Records boss remains a stalwart of the dance and electronic music scene having released a healthy assortment of music across some twenty odd years. His record label remains a consistent staple of house, disco and techno with Freerange having released music by the likes of Tony Lionni, Demuja, Detroit Swindle, Hanna and many more.

Whilst Jimpster isn't stereotypically known for his take on ambient music we leapt at the prospect of him delivering an alternative mix of eclectic selections.

There are few as fun as this man. That could be taken in a number of ways but it's the absolute truth, from the music he makes to his long wispy hair and his exceptional taste in records. As a disc jockey he remains unrivalled in his selection process and his ability to keep a party rocking from dusk til' dawn, there are few who can do it with as much style and carefree gravitas as Jonny.

Since 2005 he has also been a mysterious figure in the studio, releasing music on a sprawling array of labels including Fleeting Wax, Bahnsteig 23, Oye Edits and beyond. A firm favourite from all concerned at Ransom Note we are wholeheartedly delighted to be able to have him contribute to our honourable mix series. In fine style...

Now then, what have we here?

Morgan Hammer remains an understated force beneath the surface of electronic music, a tried and tested disc jockey and one half of the dynamic duo She Made Monster alongside Lokier. She's previously released music on Optimo Trax and her influence amidst the Barcelona club culture scene remains prominent. Not one to take things lightly she blurs the lines between oddball foor to the floor house and techno alongside excursions in electro, post punk, new wave and beyond. Purposeful and dynamic her sets are rugged yet beautifully enchanting.

We invited her to deliver a mix for Ransom Note, an outing which is long overdue given her affiliations with some of our favourites. One to watch and take note.
