May 29, 2021FFA #67: Son Of The MaskInstead of watching the critically acclaimed “The Mask” starring Jim Carrey, we decided to watch the less successful and critically panned “Son Of The Mask.” Jamie Kennedy stars in the role that essentially destroyed his acting career, but finds charm surprisingly throughout. Newcomers include Alan Cumming, Traylor Howard, and weird CGI anthropomorphic dogs and babies. If you just let yourself go for an hour and a half and forget about the original movie you can find things about this film to enjoy. Whether it be nods to old Looney Tunes cartoons or the props department’s outstanding budget they were given. Either way it was a commercial failure, and derailed the whole “Mask” lore for future installments to be shelved indefinitely. However the boys enjoyed this watch somehow and made it through so technically it’s watchable!! Found out for yourself on this weeks Friday F*** Around...more1h 35minPlay
May 22, 2021FFA #66: Bubble BoyJake Gyllenhaal stars in the early 2000s goofy remake of “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble” starring John Travolta. The tone is shifted drastically as the makers of Austin Powers: the spy who shagged me, had a hand in making this cult classic. With a cameo of mini me himself Vern Troyer. It’s a fun and hilarious adventure for Jimmy who was born without immunities and has to live his life inside of a bubble, but that life gets old eventually. He must stop the love of his life from marrying a horrible guy for her. He decides to leave his bubble in a makeshift mobile bubble and sets off on the adventure for a lifetime....more1h 22minPlay

May 01, 2021FFA #63: Fast & Furious Tokyo DriftThis week we watch the third installment and arguably the bous favorite in the fast and the furious franchise “Tokyo Drift.” Being somewhat separate from the franchise, this movie takes a unique approach at tapping into the world of underground drift racing in the seedy underbelly of the Tokyo streets. Faced with threats from the Yakuza, Lucas Black is tested more than ever from his previous appearances on the podcast to show who the real Drift King is. S/O to Han for being an absolute legend of a character, and s/o to Justin Lin for directing this classic and starting TFATF for generations to see how crazy the franchise can get. We take it back to its humble roots for this one, so stick around for a hell of a movie commentary this week on the Friday F*** Around....more1h 42minPlay
